I doubt they ever will, not with their 700,000 £3 members.

Decent centrist Labour MP's need to walk away from the party and form a new one, along with centrist Labour members sick to the back teeth of Momentum.
Are there 700,000 of them now?
Dearie me, that's not good for Labour at all, they could end up like the Communist party of Britain, it's these
crackpots that get to choose the leader.

I'm in London at the moment and just got out of a taxi. Asked the Taxi driver if he was happy this morning or pissed off.

He said happy - which surprised me a bit. He went on to say he's a lifelong Labour voter as are his family. His son and daughter-in-law are both teachers who have always voted Labour.

But he said he voted Tory, his relatives didn't vote. And here's the interesting thing - they all voted Remain in the referendum. They are Labour remainers. He said they were all deeply torn but just could not stand Corbyn or McDonnell and some of the idiotic policies and could not bring themselves to vote for them.
There were plenty of comments from Labour MPs about the Corbyn effect. One said that nearly every door he knocked on he heard people say they don't like or trust him. I said the very same thing to a canvasser last week who looked very weary after I said it. I got the impression he was having to steel himself as he approached every door and be thinking "This one will like Jeremy, I know it". Felt very sorry for him.

Yes, it is.

Of course Brexit was the biggest issue for them. But it would be terrible folly for the loony left to try to kid themselves that Brexit was the sole problem.

Of course, Corbyn is toxic to many people, most perhaps.

Of course the electorate are not happy with wreckless levels of spending, borrowing and taxation.

Of course people understand that we need businesses to be successful and shitting on them is going to make everyone worse off.

Of course the country as a whole is more right wing leaning than it was in 1970 and OF COURSE policies from 1970's Labour are not what people want anymore.

And
Of course if you stand for election on a mandate to leave and then do everything you can to prevent that happening, the next time the electorate get the chance they will demonstrate how much they appreciate your dishonesty.

They absolutely don't want us to leave... it sets a dangerous precedent
I think they are probably quite happy for us to leave if we do so by setting ourselves on fire. Us staying would be better for them, but us falling out in complete disarray doesn't hurt them much. Us leaving and doing well would hurt them, but that seems pretty unlikely. I doubt too many EU nations are looking at us and thinking "ooh that looks like a good idea"

Yes but Fumble, Len, ifIwasonly...., Bigga, Jay, Vic and probably Bob would all be delighted.

I'm not sure they are capable. They live in a bubble.
Seriously mate, as you may gather, I'm pleased with the results, but I'm also cognisant of the need for a credible
opposition, I have voted Labour in the past, although I doubt I would again, but this Momentum shower, who get to pick who they
want are a serious worry. Some sort of rule change is needed, but I don't see how, and it's very concerning.

I have that is why I and many other voted for a Brexit MP. You have your views on Europe and I have mine but over 3 years of pissing about by Parliament (May hugely responsible) has left us in limbo when we should now be out of a Federal Europe with a trade agreement in place. After all that is what the the EC was supposed to be when we voted to remain in 1975.

Johnson equally culpable in the 3 years pissing about given that he never backed Mays deal. Johnson then proclaiming he won a miraculous new deal by using the same deal just with an extra layer of shitting on Northern Ireland. It is not May's fault that the hardline no deal brexiteers refused to sign up to her deal but sucked off Johnson to get on board with his deal. This whole thing is a cluster fuck of immense proportions. Oh and even if the WA had gone swimmingly there is no way we would have a trade agreement in place by now, as will be evidenced in the upcoming months / years of trade negotiations and johnson shifting even more of his redlines now he has a strong majority.

Yep, which is why to me Labour is dead.

The decent centrist Labour MP's need to breakaway and form a new party. I feel the pull factor of "voting for 'Labour'" would hamper their initial progress, so they'd have to form their identity quickly to stand any chance of forming a party capable of challenging. The SNP managed it, even the Lib Dems. But to me, so long as this poison flows deep with the roots of Labour, the 'Labour Party' is dead.
