There were plenty of comments from Labour MPs about the Corbyn effect. One said that nearly every door he knocked on he heard people say they don't like or trust him. I said the very same thing to a canvasser last week who looked very weary after I said it. I got the impression he was having to steel himself as he approached every door and be thinking "This one will like Jeremy, I know it". Felt very sorry for him.

Corbyn does seem to have been the biggest deciding factor. The anti-semitism issue did influence my decision on not voting Labour although in fairness Labour is not really a factor round my way. I did actually pause and wonder about going for the Greens but old habits die hard and LibDems got the nod.

SNP gaining in Scotland and NI returning a majority of nationalist MPs for the first time ever sets up a clash with England and Wales going forward. That and wrestling with the EU will be the headline features for the next few years.

The underlying thread of blame last night live on the telly was that it was the medias doing and that all the media have tried to make Labour and Corbyn out to be villains. Labour wont change until they take the middle ground, momentum wont allow them to do that, the party is a busted flush.
Boris now has a mandate to govern let's see if he can do it without fucking it up, I suspect he will do an OK job, Labour will continue just being activists the SNP will be muttering on about independence, in short business as usual.

Has anyone checked on @Vic. I'm a bit concerned for his welfare.

Johnson equally culpable in the 3 years pissing about given that he never backed Mays deal. Johnson then proclaiming he won a miraculous new deal by using the same deal just with an extra layer of shitting on Northern Ireland. It is not May's fault that the hardline no deal brexiteers refused to sign up to her deal but sucked off Johnson to get on board with his deal. This whole thing is a cluster fuck of immense proportions. Oh and even if the WA had gone swimmingly there is no way we would have a trade agreement in place by now, as will be evidenced in the upcoming months / years of trade negotiations and johnson shifting even more of his redlines now he has a strong majority.

Johnson is more than culpable.

He consistently undermined and voted against May.

He was positioning himself to be PM. Once achived, he promptly threw away the red line over NI and agreed to what the EU wanted. Our sycophantic media proclaimed him a hero and here we are.

Whether it was Cummings strategy or Johnson's own I have to take my hat off to him. By having no scruples whatsoever he has secured himself the position he craved and feels he was born for.

Make no mistake Johnson and his team have carried out a near faultless plan to gain power.

Given he doesn't actually seem to believe in anything, the big question is what will he do with that power ? My guess is he will largely deliver the agenda of those that helped put him there and those now claiming he can now go for a softer Brexit are going to be disappointed. I expect the worst.
