The reaction on here to the Tory victory from the usual suspects only confirms what @Rascal posted a few weeks ago - that the reason for voting Tory was fuelled by hatred of Labour and Corbyn.
The polls have borne this out with regard to Jezz ( and that's a separate discussion in it's own right).
There is nothing positive in the support for future Tory Government
Getting Brexit done is just about implementing a decision made over three years ago that is a bit shit but we have to go through for democratic reasons.
There are no sunlit uplands on the horizon, at best it's a slow decline and maybe a bit of Singapore deregulation to keep the Northern patient ticking over.
And repeat in five years time.

I do think in the long run this has to be looked at:

Not disputing what's happened or anything as they all knew the rules going in but I think it needs a system change. Doesn't seem right that nearly 1 million votes only gets you 1 MP.

The Votes per seat is interesting too. Tories was 38,000 per seat, the SNP even less at 25000. Lib Dems were 331,000 and the Greens 857,000.

It’s a shocking system and anyone who voted for the big 2(well big 1 now) are complicit in it. Maybe labour should look towards political reform once dumb and dumber have fucked off.

Sorry, but what are you on about?

Until the left actually takes a good long hard look at itself and realises that it's policies don't appeal to the British public rather than blaming everything except themselves then there's no chance of a left leaning Goverent in this country.

You & your ilk seem utterly unable to have even any hint of self-reflection.
The attacks from the media also had an effect, why would you even say it didn't,shocking personal attacks day after day for years,if the media doesn't sway people then they wouldn't bother doing it
We complain about media bias and attacks on city,it works

Totally disagree with you.
I voted for Brexit and I voted last night for the conservatives.
My vote had nothing to do with hatred of labour or corbyn, it had everything to do with labour's flawed and confused Brexit strategy.
If you asked a lot of people why they went to the tories it was because labour mps have disgracefully defied the brexit vote time and time again.
Some mps in high percentage areas still didn't listen and voted against every vote in the house of commons.
They alienated and rode roughshot over their constituents and last night paid a heavy price.
And they deserved to lose their seats.
I had a leaflet from my mp Kate Green which I read with interest yet it stated I could have the final say on Brexit?
I did that in 2016. Labours whole election approach was a shambles.

Maybe you are but your post was nothing but spewed rhetoric, obvously from a position of knowing nothing about Scotland, or it's politics. No reason why you need to but if you don't know about something best not commenting.
Your right, I'm English a taxpayer and fed up with the Scottish and the Barnet formula thus propping them up. I will say it again be careful what you wish for !

oh dear len, the usual suspects never lost the election, labour did.

labour need to make themselves electable and if they don’t people won’t vote for them. It’s really as simple as that.

blaming the usual suspects won’t change the result. I suggest you look to momentum and Corbyn for that.
