1. Quite so, which is precisely what Boris has been saying in the run up to the no deal vote, and why it’s such a big deal that the rebels supported it. However, I don’t think an extension is such a fantastic prospect for the EU either. They’ll be looking at the opinion polls as well and they run the risk of ending up with a Boris government with a workable majority and this is a nightmare scenario for them. If Boris can present a plan which is acceptable to the Irish why not make this change and get a deal that makes sense to all parties.
2. Boris has focused on the backstop and was faced with an EU which was refusing to budge. If he can point to an agreement which removes the backstop he can present this as a win and probably rely on the vast majority of the Tory party wanting to come back together and deliver on the promise to Leave.
3. Remember a fair number of so called hard liners voted for May’s deal on third reading and there’s a group of 30 or so Labour MPs who want this done now and will vote for a deal regardless of what Corbyn wants.
"May" "Corbyn" "Boris"

Go on, admit it; you fancy him.

Exactly (a Marxist politician picture) what is on offer if you vote Labour at the next GE and they fool enough people into believing they're not putting Len McCluskey in power
So what is factually incorrect in the above post?
Just for reference the FT guide

My bad.

How about the Queen hosting Bashar al-Assad, the President of Syria?
This nonsense again, I thought it was consigned to the deleted threads. Have you still not learnt what a 'context' is and how photos have to be understood within it? What does the context tell you here for example?

see the FT guide in my previous post - would like a little flag on the non Marxists - I might find one, although it's tricky.

Some of them are influenced by Marx but again it doesn’t mean they’ve wish to turn us into a communist state.

The Labour manifesto isn’t communist.

Labels are exactly that. Can call anyone a marxist, socialist, liberal or whatever. It's their policies that count, so it would be wiser IMO to look at their manifesto and make a decision, rather than because of they had/have beer and butties with McCluskey.

I am quoting myself because a) I thought it best to correctly spell the name of our potential future Chancellor and b) to ask if there are other BTL Landlords on here - and what would they do faced with this threat.

I find the way McDonnell smirks to hide his true intentions demonstrates what a conniving and dangerous fucker he is. But on this policy surely there would be widespread damage done to a large section of the >5m people that live in the private rental sector - and of course the nearly 2m landlords.

Personally, after hearing him this morning, I have emailed Estate Agents acting for me to suspend any planned renewals due in the coming 3 months. I am not willing to commit to extensions until this pans out.

I am sure that my reaction will be copied by lots of people - and surely this sort of policy is simply one example of what McDonnell will do.

Whilst personally I have to take actions to protect assets - as a Leaver I think that this is great news.

Surely this is exactly the type of news/policy - that once published and campaigned upon - will have the same impact on Labour that May's pathetic policies had on the Conservatives in 2017.

Let's hope so.

That's ridiculous. Your reaction, i mean. Even if the policy came to fruition, it will take a lot longer than 3 months to implement. So I wouldn't worry about your portfolio just yet.

However, you should realise that the Tories have also been discussing extending right to buy into the private sector.

And when you think about it, if you are going to have such a policy in the public sector, then the logical extension is in to the private sector too.

But, but, but their mine and i worked hard all of my life for my portfolio and i leveraged myself up to the eyeballs and it is my god given right to own 20 houses I hear you cry ...

The Labour manifesto isn’t communist.
All the ones shown (except perhaps Starmer and the now reviled Watson) are committed Marxists and the key ones on the top row were leaders of the Communist Party of Great Britain for decades immediately before being installed in the Labour Party leadership group in 2017.

They’re not though are they?

McDonnell has previously said he is but the rest haven’t and the manifesto is a social democratic one and one in which wouldn’t be out of place in Scandinavia.
I think you might have missed something rather obvious: The UK isn't in Scandinavia.

Danish 300% car tax anyone? Do you think that would get much popular support here in the UK?

Oh, and by the way, your "manifesto" comment. Have you noticed how governments always adhere strictly to their manifestos? No, neither have I.

Who was the leader of the Communist Party of Great Britain?
