Good point. One of the faultlines between Trotsky and Stalin was this. Stalin thought he could go it alone while Trotsky believed in a worldwide revolution.No, I said communism was inevitable, in perhaps 100 to 200 years from now.
AI and robotics will make human effort worthless and so a different form of wealth distribution will be needed. However, it's totally unworkable until there is complete global alignment of all major economies. So absolute ages off. No country can implement it on their own or they fuck their economy and impoverish everybody. As per the last 100 years and every previous attempt.

Am I missing something? The 1st of January 2020 is about 10 days away, the election has only just happened - 1200 carriages in a few weeks seems extremely optimistic(at best) to me. Maybe I’m missing something but the Tory’s have a very recent habit of imposing unnecessary deadlines on itself

What you’re missing is that the government if the day, a Tory government at that, said that this has to happen by 2020. It also said that Pacer trains would be gone by the same year. BJ’s transport minister has ‘reluctantly agreed’ that 10 train companies now don’t need to comply.Am I missing something? Burnham and the Mayor of Liverpool have been going mental since before he election about it and Northern have apologised saying there’s a delay in the factory.
