They don’t have 1% growth per annum......

You just love a nice bit of deflection don't you. There is not much at all about the workings of the Chinese economy which is down to any communist nor socialist principles. In fact quite the opposite: it's been at the expense of the exploitation of the workers and by allowing rampant capitalism.

They have droves of millionaires, and countless billionaires. And the delta between the richest and poorest in China, makes the USA look like the Nordics.

But of course you know all this. But why admit it when a silly jpeg will do?

Communist? China? Hahahahahahahaha.

I'm guessing you have no idea it has a thriving capitalist market with more billionaires than any country on earth.

It’s State sponsored and controlled capitalism. Socialism that works? :)

I’m guessing you’re not including the USA in that? 2604 billionaires worldwide and 705 of them in the USA. China comes second with 285.
In terms of wealth the US billionaires have a total of £3 trillion. This is more than the next 8 wealthiest countries combined.
Although billionaire wealth has fallen slightly in the last year, the Americans have faired better due to tax cuts and corporate earnings (phew).

That's a silly stat tbh.

The point is people die all the time and whilst even 1 unnecessary death is tragic, it is unfortunately a fact of life. No matter how much money is spent, there will ALWAYS be an ambulance which didn't make it in time, or some experimental drug which wasn't available or a policeman who go there too late.

Sure, had we spent more on public services then maybe that number might have been less. In fact in probably would have been. But in 2010 the public voted with full and clear knowledge for a period of austerity, which everyone was told would be hard, and would mean tough choices. It is naive to think that during that period, there would be no adverse consequences or they would not be tough choices. You may not have voted for it, but the electorate did. And they voted for it again in 2015.

And anyway, this is another huge segue. The point is communism has NEVER worked.

No mate, not 130,000 people have died in 9 years. 130,000 have died as a direct link to Tory austerity.

You’re the kind of person that cries because Corbyn might increase taxes for those on over 80k yet makes all kinds of excuse as to why the poor and disabled have to lose benefits. In the 5th richest country in the world millions of people are living in poverty, homelessness on the rise, food bank usage at astronomical levels, public funding being cut all over the place. If this is capitalism working then I would hate to see it failing.

Tory Kueensberg on Brexit cast said she's been told by a cabinet minister that Boris will offer the GE if he loses the vote today tagging on a date of 14th October to placate Labour. Once parliament Is dissolved he'll change it to November 1st.

If she knows that then Labour must and would need to be beyond stupid to fall for it. Can't see labour supporting an election until it's set in stone.

I'd read somewhere that China had overtaken the US, so there is clearly some room for debate or interpretation. The only other source I noted whilst doing a quick google just now said China on 476 and the US on 585, so if true I am mistaken. But nothing like the stats you quote.

Of course I understand you meant that (whether I accept it or not is another matter). But the UK death rate is obviously not 130,000 / 9 per year is it.

And when benefits get cut, er guess what, it affects people on benefits and not those who aren't. Well no shit sherlock. It may have escaped you (actually it did) that during that period, taxes have gone up in absolute and in real terms, allowances have been frozen. Unless you can point to a demographic who all think everything's been marvellous? Headline news: it hasn't been.

The only people who haven't felt it are those who don't live here, or who are so rich that they fuck off when we put the taxes up. Great result that is.

They know what's up....

SNP Westminster leader Ian Blackford is just out of a meeting with other opposition leaders.

He says there is "a great determination" to remove the "cliff edge of a no-deal Brexit."

He also says that he wants a general election but adds "we need to be able to influence the date of that election".

"What we don't want to do is to fall out of the EU on a no-deal basis," he says.

"We know exactly what Boris Johnson is up to."
