The Rags got top dollar largely because Moyes - at Everton and Bruce at Sunderland would buy anyone the Rags deemed surplus to requirements and pay over the odds for the pleasure of signing a whole range of superstars including Richardson, Brown and Gibson.

Now moyes has gone to Sunderland it has started again, buying Love and McNair.
 
I find it hard to believe that we would be willing to take a £19m loss on a player we signed just over two years ago.
