Georges problem is he's soon going to be too old for the eds and won't get the game time around the first team ,he's going to end up stuck in limbo land or end up out on loan again
Really pleased for Evans, it's every fan's dream to pay for the club they support.
It's quite an achievement to have represented the club at every age group, hope he gets more game time as the season progresses. It's obviously going to be a huge challenge to break into the first team though.
How can the club make a big deal out of Evans being the first to go from U8 to first team and then get told that someone else did it five years earlier.
I do wonder if this club will never rid of little cock ups like this.
It wasn't meant that way if you read the rest of the sentence, which you failed to underline. I couldn't care less what he gets paid, whatever it is, lucky him. All footballers get paid a lot compared to the majority of us who support them, regardless of the club they play for.For once, I would love to read a positive piece about one of our players without it having to include ANYTHING about his pay packet! there is a lot of money in football and the young lad is doing quite well. Can't we just leave it at that and leave all the proletarian pay envy out of it?!
Fair do's. Just would like fans to acknowledge that players do not get into the game for the riches, but because they love to play football a lot more than dig ditches! Now, I'll grant that some young uns come by a decent wad at a very early age these days, but for the vast majority, it will never be enough to live on for the next 20 yrs, let alone retire on. Everyone hears about the gazillion pound contracts, but there are 100 or 200 pros just getting by for everyone of them we hear about. It wasn't meant that way if you read the rest of the sentence, which you failed to underline. I couldn't care less what he gets paid, whatever it is, lucky him. All footballers get paid a lot compared to the majority of us who support them, regardless of the club they play for.
He's living the dream that most of us would have dreamed of, and what he's achieved, to go from under 8's, to first team, is quite incredible, and I would imagine pretty rare at any football club.
