Georges problem is he's soon going to be too old for the eds and won't get the game time around the first team ,he's going to end up stuck in limbo land or end up out on loan again

Great postmatch interview and it was there for everyone to see how much he loves to play for us. This was his biggest ever dream coming through.
Yet live goes on and now it's up to him to try and make more regular minutes in official games. He knows the fans would love him to be in the set-up but if he isn't good enough it will soon be forgotten. Let's hop he good enough; we all want him to be.

Really pleased for Evans, it's every fan's dream to pay for the club they support.

It's quite an achievement to have represented the club at every age group, hope he gets more game time as the season progresses. It's obviously going to be a huge challenge to break into the first team though.

I would like to think that the reason both Evans & Kean Bryan have played so often at cb in the EDS, is because the club is trying to get them as much experience of defending as possible, so that when they step up, they are already a bit ahead of the game defensively, when asked to do a 'holding' type role at the back of our midfield.

It would be nice to think that we never have to sign anothr DeJong, Barry, Fernando, Javi Garcia, Rodwell, even Delph, in the future because we can promote our own.

How can the club make a big deal out of Evans being the first to go from U8 to first team and then get told that someone else did it five years earlier.

I do wonder if this club will never rid of little cock ups like this.

For once, I would love to read a positive piece about one of our players without it having to include ANYTHING about his pay packet! there is a lot of money in football and the young lad is doing quite well. Can't we just leave it at that and leave all the proletarian pay envy out of it?!
It wasn't meant that way if you read the rest of the sentence, which you failed to underline. I couldn't care less what he gets paid, whatever it is, lucky him. All footballers get paid a lot compared to the majority of us who support them, regardless of the club they play for.

He's living the dream that most of us would have dreamed of, and what he's achieved, to go from under 8's, to first team, is quite incredible, and I would imagine pretty rare at any football club.

Fair do's. Just would like fans to acknowledge that players do not get into the game for the riches, but because they love to play football a lot more than dig ditches! Now, I'll grant that some young uns come by a decent wad at a very early age these days, but for the vast majority, it will never be enough to live on for the next 20 yrs, let alone retire on. Everyone hears about the gazillion pound contracts, but there are 100 or 200 pros just getting by for everyone of them we hear about.

I played pro, as did my father before me. Neither of us got rich of it back in the day, but it helped pay the bills. Today, especially at clubs like City, players are much better taken care of and have advisors and assistance at every turn. That's a good thing, because most of them will not hit 30 as a pro, and there is an entire life of work ahead of you that hits you square between the eyes.

At 16, everyone I knew thought I was mad because I actually turned down a Pro contract at Leeds United so that I could stay in school and do my A levels. 10 yrs later, my football career was over, but my education allowed me to go on to be a Financial Analyst for a Fortune 500 company and am now an Airline Captain with a global U.S. airline. I know plenty of lads who I played with who have not been quite so lucky because they put all their eggs in the "I'm going to make it!" basket....and lost!

I'm ecstatic that a young lad who has supported the club since he was a nipper has come through the ranks from A to Z and I hope he has many a good year in the sky blue shirt we would all love to wear. However, what he gets paid has absolutely no bearing on how I feel about that, or I'd imagine what he feels about that. In fact, watching that interview, I wouldn't be surprised if he would have paid Sheikh Mansour for making that happen!

Everyone is making a shed load of money in the top flight game by any normal standards. Everyone knows it. I'm glad they do, because they are the people who generate the income and I'd rather a large portion of it stayed with the workers than the owners. So, for a change, and especially on here while talking about our young guns who come through, it would be nice to take money out of the equation and just enjoy their skills and qualities as young players and future stars of Man City.

Sorry for being so long winded in my agreement!!

best thing I've seen is evans, barker and a few other all training with the first team on a regular basis, great for them
