Also the Erdinger brewery is close too .. :)

Sounds delish. I'll be onto as many beers as I can get my lips around. Cheers.

As you definitely are in Nürnberg now I would recommend a trip to Nürnbergs ground.

If the wife gets pissed tell her that the Reichparteitagsgelände is right around the corner as well, so you can do some cultural sightseeing! Just dont tell her that its a shady excuse to get to the ground. ;)

Dachau itself got other stuff to offer than the concentration camp as well:

Might want to leave the camp as last point of your sightseeing. As others already mentioned it can hit you hard...

I have travelled quite a bit and have never met more polite and genuine people than the Germans.

Some years ago I drove to Munich with my older son. We were parked by the roadside one day and a German guy pulled over to say hello, having noticed our GB number plate. Gave us a bottle of beer and went on his way. We were amazed.

I know they must have their share of bad uns but, to this day, I've rarely met a German who wasn't polite and friendly.

And by the way, Bavaria is beautiful.

Me and the wife went in May, great city but everything's spread out, we got an open top bus and hopped on and off whenever we fancied looking at one of the many sights.

Ok, so I'm all booked for three nights in Munich, and three nights in Prague. Now I need to figure out where to stay for four more nights. My last night might end up being back in Munich as my flight is out of there. I'm thinking Nuremburg and then being able to get to Bamberg, Rothenberg and possibly Heidelberg from there.

AMSTERDAM.

Sorry to drag this up again. Thanks for all the replies, very helpful indeed.
The wife really wants to go to Dachau at some point during the trip. As of now we are three nights in Munich, three nights in Prague, and are looking to book in Nuremburg for the remaining four nights as Munich hotel prices have gone through the roof. I'm thinking of three nights in Nuremburg and then the last night in Dachau so that we are close to Munich airport on the last day. Does this make any sense? Not sure if Dachau is a nice place (obviously the camp won't be very nice) to stay, or if it's a good place to get to Munich airport from.

I'd just do Dachau from Munich, there's buses from one of the stops on the S-Bahn.
