Gigs Thread

Bought two tickets in the "cheap" seats for £47 each in the pre-sale.
Seems a bit weird buying tickets for a venue that is still being built!
Seems you have to pay more for aisle seats! - how long before City bring that one in :-)

Prices are high unless high up.

Seats close to stage - £114
Lower Tier as much as £87 and down to £64
Top Tier £47 to £70.

Seems a bit toppy for Keane/Lathums.

Still sold well though looking at the planner. I may still go just to see how good the arena is.

Not sure who the Jonas Brothers are but tickets for their show range from £90 odd up in the gods to £447 right by the stage for some vip package where you don’t get very much! Incredible.

I don't think me or you are the target audience for the Jonas Brothers. They're an American teen pop act, and I'm proud to say, I couldn't name one song by them!

Just bought tickets for Psychalic Furs and Squeeze on 9/30, Salt lake. Old but could be fun
Saw Glen Tilbrook at the Witchwood in Ashton after Squeeze broke up. About 150 - 200 there I think, only a small venue, was fantastic, one of the best gigs I’ve been to.

Been to Dipperland today to watch the Bunnymen. Played Ocean Rain in full with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and did a set before and 2 song encore (Lips like Sugar and The Cutter)

Very good performance although couldn’t understand one word he said.

Had a good day out though. Some decent pubs there and cheaper than Manc. Everton fans not overly excited about this takeover.

Pixies 3 days at Albert Hall manchester, sold out on ticketbastard before I even got the notification they were available, are there other means?

Twickets according to my son. You’ll have to google it, I believe it’s linked to twitter so might not be any use if you don’t have an account.

Viagogo if you want to be ripped off

Just got cheap tickets for Megadeth, yeehah
Saw them a few years back and was temporarily deaf for almost a week afterwards, but still one of the best gigs I've ever been to for pure energy. Believe Kiko is off the tour due to injury?

Am taking the daughter to a Taylor Swift tribute next, which will be a change for me. She was desperate for tickets for the real thing for her birthday but they were going for £600, and even then you probably wouldn't get one.

Seems all a bit mad for gigs in the UK this year. Prices are sky high and they're all selling out. Missed out on wasp back in march after seeing every UK tour this century, as they just sold out too and the resellers wanted nearly triple face value. Yet my missus went to see another band last weekend which was also a supposed sell out, and said it was half empty.

Am sure the official ticket sellers are reselling to themselves to create demand and push prices up. They probably always were, just on a much higher level now

Anyone else here seeing Paul Draper (of Mansun) on his October tour? He's playing the Mansun album Six in its entirity. This album is very special to me so I can't wait.

Also hoping to see Johnny Marr if tickets are still available later this week (I imagine it's probably sold out though).

Looks like Kiko is out for the rest of the tour.
The ticket prices in general are insane due to all the third party companies, I originally was quoted $55 per ticket then after all the add ones they wanted $80. I kept looking and found tickets on ‘Etix’ and got them for $35 each. On the lawn at the back but still plenty close enough, my mosh pit days are over

It’s the frenzied social media world we live in now. Fear of missing out on the world where everyone else is having fun!

To know who was gigging years ago would involve going out to buy the NME and scouring the back pages. Now I haven’t even thought about a gig and I am sent daily emails telling me about bands I would like to go and watch. I do sometimes fall for it too.

Prices are mad now.

In case any Rush fans jump in Geddy Lee is doing a little tour for his new book in December.
Book called "My Effin' Life "
Only 5 venues and they don't work for me, maybe for some of you guys ? Good luck.

It was amazing
Try to see it on the big screen if you can
Used to go every weekend to the old Ambassador in Dublin.
Great memories. Loved it. Conway’s across the road for a few pints first then rocking in the aisles and stage in front of the screen for the actual concert.
Brilliant, happy memories.
