doesn't matter what breed or if it was a loving family dog, people forget they can turn on you anytime.shocks me that folk leave young kids alone with dogs, although i see this is a 15yr old in this case

Give over. Millions of people live side by side with all types of dogs in this country alone. Lots of them have children.

whilst its unlikely your dog will turn on you it happens a lot and usually to very young kids who are alone with the dog.its not worth the risk to leave the 2 together unattended.im a animal lover and i have had dogs,a kid pulls its tail when its not in the mood and it will bite

stray dogs often group into packs and soon turn ferile.

i have never seen that in the uk or seen it reported. Most stray dogs are left on there own and are more than not found and put in the kennels.

-- Tue Mar 26, 2013 8:17 pm --

why leave a young kid alone with a so called dangerous dog, if that happens that is the fault of the parent or the owner not the dog. Ofcourse it will bite, if someone yanks my balls lets say I would too :)

if peole know how to look after dogs it wouldnt happen.

Mainly russia and eastern europe mate...these dogs were not strays, just saying that dogs still have the wolf in them.

I think the pack mentality of dogs could be important in this case. If one has gone for her then the others may simply have followed suit.
Truly horrible for the poor girl if what we are surmising is true.

My nana has just been telling she remembers a pregnant woman being cornered and killed by a pack of stray dogs on boundary lane in Hulme in the 1970's. I do remember when dogs used to roam about in packs when I was a kid in the early 80's. the opening titles of the film "Rita, Sue and Bob too" shows a roaming pack of dogs I think?

I still have a scar on my cheek from when I was 5, I got up quick to answer the front door and our jack russel latched on to my face, my mum belted it with the poker to make it let go.. before that it had never ever shown any hostility to me my family or anyone...It was put down later that day.

well they basically are a type of wolf. Thats what some people fail to realise, dont leave your kid with so called dangerous dogs and this type of thing wouldnt happen.

Most cases it seems are of people leaving there kids with the dogs, why leave a child of say 3 with a dog you know probably shouldnt be around kids. I just cant get my head around it.

given the number of dog owners and the number of fatal attacks, no, it doesn't happen a lot.

You can be sure of one thing this today will bring in new legeslation on dogs, just heard some jonny local politician on radio say as much.
How much is a dog licence now and is it enforced ?
