Give Eastlands its Kippax

I think we, or should I say the club, need to address this. As simplistic as it sounds, the club have to do this and make it happen. Once the logisitics of moving the away support is done, then the fans can get involved and make the atmosphere that we (and i'm sure the players) want.

For me, the best and most logical solution is to reallocate the away fans to blocks 111, 211 and 212 - effectively giving the away fans the "South East Corner".
Our fans in 111 move across to 113, 114 and 115 and the fans in 211 and 212 move across to 213, 214 and 215.

The fans wanting to have "banter" with the away can still have it and all of our vocal support will have the whole of the South Stand.

The club can't move the away fans due to the location of the away coach park.

The kippax died the day standing was abolished. There is a romanticised version of the Kippax since then.

It was crap for many years after, most of the lads went in the North and Main Stand.

Whatever the compromises, football fans have changed. There are two generations who think 'whose the faggot in the pink?' represents a cllective mass of support.

THIS

it's all so simple!!
If Poznan fans can be safely put in the third tier then surely it would be really easy to put the away fans a few blocks to the east.
We'd have pretty much the whole south stand full of people who want to stand/sing, and still be next to the away fans for the banter etc.

Another great advantage of doing this is that it wont be as nice for away teams having to kick towards a City end in both halves. Currently we have no vocal/inspiring end to kick towards. One half it's the Family Stand and the next half it's away fans. I'm sure it would give the team a huge lift kicking towards a full end of standing vocal blues.

We need to let the club involved before the time for season ticket renewals!

There was no problem when the Poznan fans came.
Also, at nearly every away ground we visit we have to walk through all the home fans to the coaches, hardly any problems. With them big fences they put up after games now I'm sure fans could be easily kept apart if needs be.

I think there was no problem with Poznan, due to City turn up not being the usual.

It's easier to police.

Also, foreign fans have less 'issues' in terms of City being the opposition.

The same can't be said putting fans of United, Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool etc.

The police have a much bigger say in these matters than City will ever have.

Does anyone know if the club are actively thinking about this issue? Well done for bumping the thread, but any form of campaign is going to be too late for this season unless its already been planned.

If not it would be a good idea for someone with the time and contacts to mount a campaign for 2012/13 season. Maybe get a group going and raise some cash, get some leaflets distributed on matchdays to gather support, and demonstrate to the club some fan power. If we could find a way of presenting the idea as a good business plan, which will increase revenue, then they may be interested.

United, Arsenal etc also have police having a big say but they seem to manage it?

Keep the away fans in for 20-30 after the game if needs be. When the home fans have gone put one of those fences up and let them walk to the existing coach park.

Without being funny, the modern world is capable of putting men on the moon and cloning human organs -I'm pretty sure we can get a few away fans out of a football stadium.

Edit: Or, keep them in for 10 minutes, once all of the South Stand has cleared let them walk along the concourse inside the ground and exit out of the gates they do presently to get straight on to the coach park?

I think moving the away fans to 110, 111, 112 and 210, 211, 212 is a lot easier logistically.. it just means moving the away entrance/exit down a few blocks.

This still gives people the oportunity to be next to the away fans and if the club are thinking about generating extra monies, then the away fans moving into these areas will increase ticket prices for travelling away supporters but then give the opportunity for people in other areas of the stadium to move to a cheaper area i.e. the south stand.
