Just seen it on SSN, my view is.... TOUGH! They will both stay and both get games, not every week but they will both have their chance to shine this season. I'm sure every player in every possition is saying the same "I want first team football week in, week out".

Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given has stated he will consider his future at Manchester City if he's not selected for the opening game of the new Barclays Premier League season against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
Given, who has recovered from a shoulder injury that saw him miss the final three games of last season, is in a battle with Joe Hart for the number one shirt at Eastlands and is considering a transfer or loan move if he's not picked this weekend.

Talk about 2 babies both throwing thier toys out of the pram with both goalies now threatening to leave if not picked.
As far as i understand it, its not Given or Hart's decision to consider thier future. City dont need to sell and both are under contract.
Nice to see both of them are team players

My interpretation of events.
Given is getting pissed off that Hart keeps going to the media stating he wants to be number 1 or else he wants to leave (go out on loan).
This is probably putting a lot of pressure on Mancini to pick Hart. So Given has responded by saying he'll also go if he's not number 1.
I think tbh they're both trying to insure their places as first choice but are being childish about it.
Choice for me; Given. - Watch highlights from last year.

Let Given go on loan if he wants, and we'll bring in a proper number 2. Unfortunately for us, we have two number 1's instead of a number 1 and a number 2. Typical!
