Global obesity 1 billion

So true. Some of the ads nowadays seem to be promoting the idea of being proud of your body, whatever weight you are.Excess body weight puts a strain on your heart and can lead to other health issues.
Yep, can you imagine of they had ads that said,
' you smoke 50 fags a day? So what, be empowered by it, it's ok to be you'

BMI takes your height and weight and makes the deduction that your entire body is the weight it is because of excess fat. It's a very basic method of determining how much harmful body fat you have and incredibly inaccurate.
Went to physio a while ago and had to stand on these scales with pads on them. They measure your electrical impedance and can accurately measure what percentage body fat you possess.

To be fair, you're answering that like it was a serious suggestion.
Body weight is still an important factor whether it is fat or muscle.
Asking a seriously overweight person to exercise can be dangerous.
I remember a celebrity tv program about weight loss where a contestant some 5 stone overweight was almost forced to run by a fitness instructor particularly dangerous.
My thoughts were perhaps that instructor would struggle if a rucksack with 5 stone in it was on his back. Maybe his heart or muscles would fail if running was a requirement.

Diet first exercise by max heart rate later.

A mirror and "pinch an inch". I've got a 46 inch chest and 33 inch waist and according to BMI i'm overweight. BMI is only part of determining body fat percentage.
But it's not BS as you call it, it just doesn't work for athletes or those who have chosen to build muscle and those with certain medical issues. These people are what is known in the data industry as outliers, for the vast majority it is a good enough measurement to highlight when someone is struggling to stay within a healthy range.

So it's 50% bullshit

So it's 50% bullshit
No. It's a decent starting point for identifying a healthy weight for someone. If 50% of the people that use it are immediately helped to identify what is a good weight range for them and the remaining 50% are guided to know its limitations for their circumstances then its done its job.

Excluding athletes and muscly people, if BMI indicates somebody is overweight or obese then they probably need to lose some weight.

Processed food is way too cheap and convenient though. The £5 meal challenge is difficult to make anything nutritional, but you can easily to create a meal full of processed crap.

I think a bni check is a good start where obviously obese people can get target weight loss from.
From a diet point of view calorie control is also a good start whatever it consists of ie the body burns approx 2200 Cals per day doing nothing so any reduction of intake should lose weight.
The type of food as well as drink is a good refinement where processed food, because it contains added salt and processed sugar etc, simply for control of flavor and product reproduce ability could / should follow.

In short lifestyle must change if our inherited body shape from years of evolution is challenged by diet.

Just an opinion.
