Goalkeeper situation summer 25

I don’t think there is a keeper in world football as good on the ball as ederson, so we will have to compromise.

For me we should re sign Trafford. He was so young when he was with us, but has all the talent and ability to be a top keeper. Kelleher is a decent shout as well.

Suzuki is the future of goalkeepers. Traford has horrible football ability

If a player is willing to leave, I think the club should just open the door for them.


We only need the ones that want to stay.

Disagree. Bernardo has wanted out for years, still here and we wouldn't have won what we have in that period without him. Ederson is unique, and a perfect fit, you don't give that up without doing everything possible to get them to stay.

Sorry but Trafford at the highest level at this time is not up to it.

With the ball at his feet he is poor, we need an elite keeper, Trafford is nowhere near that.

I agree but it appears the club and player don't feel the same.

Ederson wanted out last summer but the club prevented him doing so ( 50m fee wanted) he stayed for this season but probably on condition he can leave for a far smaller fee this summer.

Trafford is a decent shop stopper, but doesn't have the distribution/control to work for us - saw it several times when he was at Bolton and I was dragged there by the better half.

Only way we'd get Kelleher, not that I want him either, is if his contract runs down. Liverpool won't deal with us these days imho
 
I don't know anything about the source but they are saying Barcelona may be wanting to sell both Iñaki Peña and Wojciech Szczęsny as they have a youngster they believe can be a capable back up to Ter Stegen returns from injury.

Szczęsny is older but seems to be pretty capable with the ball at his feet. Peña i don't know much about other than he's only 25, I believe, and should get better. Barcelona seems to think highly of him. Both are out of contract in 2026.

I wonder if any of Chelsea, Newcastle or United try and get Ortega if we end up signing a new number 1.

Chelsea have like a million goalies but saw they was linked with another again recently
