Goals you still Remember

Duncan McKenzie's totally brilliant goal against us, for Nottingham Forest in the FA cup in 1974 at The City Ground, Nottingham.....Shortly after this he signed for Brian Clough's Leeds side.

From the web:-

In 1974 Forest were a pretty ordinary second division side, other than McKenzie. That season, he became only the third Forest player to top the scoring charts in his division with 26 goals. In the fourth round of the FA Cup, McKenzie put on a one-man display, the like of which has not been seen since at the City Ground. He ran the Manchester City Defence ragged. He created two goals for Ian Bowyer and one for George Lyall before scoring himself. It was Duncan McKenzie 4 Manchester City 1 Forty one thousand fans watched McKenzie put them to the slaughter on Forest’s second ever Sunday game.

By no means the best, but Dzeko's 4th against Spurs was memorable for all sorts of reasons.

I can't remember much about any of the the goals in that game, I was too busy watching out for Forest's "boys" who seemed intent on kicking lumps out of any City fan they spotted. A horrible day from every angle.

Mick McCarthy header to equalise in the Derby - finished 1-1 - he just seemed to hang in the air then bang!!!

not spectacular but just seems to stick in my mind

That goal was very spectacular - I would say the best ever City headed goal recorded on film. Other candidates would be Watson v Ipswich, Hinchcliffe v Man U (for the move), ... err... can't think of any others - Quinny had a good one versus Liverpool

For me I always remember a Kevin Bond screamer against Leeds I think circa 1982. It was much the same as Danny Mills effort v Everton but from further out.

My all-time favourite though was Paul Walsh's winner v Blackburn. The whole match was a classic but the wait for him to get to the rebound from Summerbees shot seemed like an eternity and when the ball hit the net we went mental lol - Good Times

About the Francis goal, was it a turn and shot?-I thought he ran onto a flick and half volleyed it it. It was the last home game Grandad and me attended together-he had a heart attack soon after.Caused, according to grandma, by City being top of the league.

My first thought after Sergio scored.
