I've had my doubts about him, if you look at his goals vs. games stats they don't look impressive but then you notice how often he comes on as a sub. Would definitely be cheaper than Falcao and Cavani.
Here are the main stats (league only) from ESPN for the arguers. If it's clinical we need I think this is the most important stat and if you believe in this stat he is the joint 2nd most clinical striker in any of Europe's main leagues.
Messi - 43 goals, 151 shots = a goal every 3.5 shots
Higuain - 12 goals, 47 shots = a goal every 3.9 shots
Lewandowski - 21 goals, 82 shots = a goal every 3.9 shots
Mandzukic - 15 goals, 63 shots = a goal every 4.2 shots
Falcao - 22 goals, 95 shots = a goal every 4.3 shots
Ibrahimovic - 26 goals, 133 shots = a goal every 5.11 shots
Cavani - 22 goals, 124 shots = a goal every 5.6 shots
Michu - 17 goals, 99 shots = a goal every 5.8 shots
Benzema - 8 goals, 47 shots = a goal every 5.9 shots
Van Persie - 19 goals, 114 shots = a goal every 6 shots
Dzeko - 12 goals, 73 shots = a goal every 6.08 shots
Ronaldo - 29 goals, 203 shots = a goal every 7 shots
Aguero - 10 goals, 72 shots = a goal every 7.2 shots
Suarez - 22 goals, 174 shots = a goal every 7.8 shots
Jovetic - 12 goals, 97 shots = a goal every 8.08 shots
Tevez - 10 goals, 86 shots = a goal every 8.6 shots
Tottenham, Manchester City and Arsenal have been alerted after Real Madrid confirmed they will sell Gonzalo Higuain.
Tottenham failed in a bid to sign the Argentine last summer and Real Madrid general manager Jose Angel Sanchez said: 'In a great club like Real, we believe we need two number nines of a high level. We have Benzema and Higuain, Higuain will leave, Benzema will stay and two others will come.'
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are continuing to monitor Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini as they formulate their summer rebuilding plans.

Bollocks to Cavani. Get Higuain for a fraction of the price and spend the leftovers on another player

I just think he's too similar to Aguero mate in that he plays on the shoulder of the last defender. If we are going to spend £20 million + it needs to be an inside forward type or an outstanding genuine number 9 type (Cavani or Falcao). In my opinion, obviously.

Tevez may leave if not this then definately next year!
Don't we need two top class strikers coming in?
And dont mention Guidetti as one as he isnt premiership match fit yet and would be a hell of a gamble to rely on week in week out though obviously one for the future.
