Good news: City ready to spend big again

I have read so many posts only to discover that no one seems show the slightest glimmer of light for city in the coming summer. Most of us would suggest an unrealistic FM type squad while others present squads that would either leave us in status quo or make us regress. Are we saying there's no hope this summer? I don't want to believe that and so I put this team together: great albeit realistic

Hart
Zabaleta Kompany Demichelis Clichy
Schneiderlin Koke
De Bruyne Silva Bale
Aguero

Caballero and Johananssen
Sagna Mangala Denayer and Rekik EDS LB (help me here)
Fern Fern
Navas Iheanacho and Pozo Lopes
Bony

Sch 35
Koke 48
DBr 38
Bale 85
Total 206 pounds

Yaya, Kolarov and Jojo 48
Nasri 15
Dzeko 18
Sinclair 3
Total 84 pounds

Net 122 million bucks

Is that too much?

Probably mate, but over 2 summers that is possible. That team would win trophies.

Why would we give Real Madrid their money back for Bale?

Schneiderlin
De Bruyne
Koke
Sterling
Lacazette
Clyne
Barkley
A left back?
Bring Denayer home

Out

Kolarov
Dzeko
Jovetic
Lampard
Milner
Sagna
Fernando
Boyata
Yaya
Seems way too much upheaval.

Maybe more like 5 in 5 out would be less detrimental to our chances next season.

For arguments sake

Out -
Yaya
Milner
Lampard
Jovetic
Kolarov

In -

De Bruyne
Koke
Dybala / Icardi
Barkley
Cresswell

Not to mention why would we get rid of Nasri and especially for £15 million??? Has he been knobbing your girlfriend?

The main thing is to get a philosophy of hard work in the team. This is the time to change parts of the team and get in big players who are also willing to work hard and press teams and then getting back into position. Currently we lack pace and the amount of hard work required to be a top team and with the right signings both of these can be sorted.

Schneiderlin 30-35M
De Bruyne 38M
Koke 45M
Sterling 40M
Lacazette 30M
Clyne 20-25M
Barkley 15-25M
A left back? (gaya, rodriguez) 15-20M
Bring Denayer home

Out

Kolarov 7.5M
Dzeko 22M
Jovetic 18M
Lampard 0
Milner 0
Sagna 1-2M
Fernando 7.5M
Boyata 1-2M
Yaya 15-18M

I think its way too much 230-250M spend
70-75 M gain

wont happen IMO although I want to seen something like this myself

Add
Sinclair £3m and Nasri to that list too £10m - £15m

Luckily, you're not in charge of our transfers

I think people are underestimating the difference one or two world class players can make. If we genuinely get someone that good, it can be the difference that brings you the title. Look at the rags when they got van Persie. The squad isn't in need of a massive overhaul imo. The reality is that we're not going to buy 5 world class players, and I don't think we should be buying anyone who's not either automatic first team or a talented youngster (or both).

Incidentally, did anyone else realise Sagna's on a 3 year contract? Doubt we're getting rid of him tbh.

We surely have to get one/two of the following if we're spending big:

Pogba
Bale. HG
Reus
Koke

Keeping Milner is so important or we'll have to pay daft money for Homegrown players.

It'll just end up being a transitional season where we can't judge anything then we'll have to wait about 18 months to see whether a whole raft of new signings have actually improved the squad. Based on the fact Demi and Fernandinho are the only starters we've signed in years I'm not sure we can guarantee that.
