Latest odds 1/12 to be a Milan player by end of transfer window,
England were 1/50 to win the world cup bid and 6/4 to win the 06 WC
I can assure you they were never 1/50
It was the live betting on Sky during the first round of votes. You are correct it was never 1/50 but it was odds on funnily just as we got voted out

Re: Goodbye Mario?

Not being funny here to all the Mario lovers but we have done pretty well without him for the majority of the season.

No issue with him going. We have had 3 strikers all season.

Not sure if Guidetti is injury free/ready to step up to the plate but I would take him over Mario any day.

Appreciate what Mario has done for us albeit not a lot(the assist,Cup final showing and his performance at the swam) however I will wish him good luck should he go.

Its not who you determine its who the audience like. Just like Charlie Sheen is more of a recognised brand than tee total Cliff Richards. Balotelli is more famous and has a larger audience world wide than Kompany. Shirt sales alone prove that.
This "he sells shirts" stuff is bollocks in my opinion. He may well be one of the most popular names on our shirt but to suggest that people buy thousands of shirts just because of Balotelli is utter nonsense. If we didn't have Balotelli then at least 99.999% of the people with his name on the back of their shirt would get someone else's.

Absolutely correct.

The people who bought City shirts and had Balotelli printed on them would have bought a shirt anyway.

everybody who posts sweeping statements like this is a fucking idiot

Maybe so but would they support the club? I mean teenage Americans who like the whole Balotelli appeal. That alone is a massive market.
No it isn't. Where does our money come from? Sponsorships, then media income. The exposure we bring sponsors like Etihad and others is based on how successful we are on the field not how many teenage Americans support us. Our media income also depends on how successful we are on the field.

I'm not saying it will have no bearing but I'd guess the financial impact of a single player (unless it's someone like Messi or Ronaldo maybe) will be minimal.

True
On the morning we were about 4/1,and then for some reason we went to about 4/9
I actually remember twitcher being 1/66 to manage newcastle and people lumping on
Your right it can go pearshaped, but i think this is a near certainty

Re: Goodbye Mario?

Can't see him leaving, Platt says he staying, Mancini says he's staying. Do we have another 22 year old who's happy to play 4th choice lined up? Nope, doesn't make sense to let a player go so late with no replacement, Aguero has had problems this season, Tevez could get 'taken out' Whelan style then we'd be donald ducked.
I don't know another 22 year old with the potential he has, for me we'd be letting him go at the wrong time, wait another season.
