£20.5M is a good deal - if true
Cracking deal if true as we only paid €22m for him allegedly. That would be an £11/12m profit in the accounts.
Would you be our family accountant, please. Amazing arithmetic.
For a family as financially illiterate as yours it would be a (very lucrative) pleasure. ;-)

We paid £18m (€22m) on a 5 year contract for him 2.5 years ago. We amortise (write off to the P&L account) 18/5 (£3.6m) every year meaning we've written off £9m to date. This makes his net book value £9m. We calculate the profit on the sale price less net book value so if we get €24m (£20.5m) the profit we show, regardless of how Milan finance it, is £11.5m.

Re: Goodbye Mario?

There is a slight irony in that the press who have ultimately pushed him out will be the ones who miss him the most

ha ha /\ PB ;)

How have the press pushed him out?

His misdemeanors have been higlighted to an extent he is given unfair treatment on the field

Re: Goodbye Mario?

Will be sorry to see him go. Bags of potential but we only saw glimpses of it.

Good luck for the future Mario

If true what has he actually contributed at his time at the club?

A Derby goal celebration that will still be shown in a hundred years and the assist for the greatest single moment in this club's history.

That'll do.

yep

will be interesting to see if he can fulfill all that talent elsewhere if he goes
He won't, and in time people will look on from here and wonder what all the fuss was about, especially when his replacement, (whoever that may be), is contributing massively to the team.
That's right. Massively so.

Re: Goodbye Mario?

Mrs Underpants just got sky Italia website up, hes going today, hes said goodbyes to everyone at Carrington this morning after training.
He knew he was going yesterday thats why he had a party last night.
I went training ground about 1pm it was very quiet no press or anything hanging about/
Stuart Brennan coming on talkshite now with updates

Like the assist that wins us the title? Or MOTM performances in the next 2 derbies in a row as well as 2 goals?

Re: Goodbye Mario?

I put a thread on here last week about him moving out , and renting out his house , look's like he's going .....

either that or he's moved into Mancinis broom cupboard !

Re: Goodbye Mario?

With apologies to Reg Dwight...

Goodbye Mario, though I never knew you at all
I laughed when you threw your darts
Out the training ground window
You almost burnt your house down
And then you said “it wasn’t me”
And you wound up Camel Gob,
When we won at Wem-ber-ley

And it seems to me, that you’re grass allergy
Was a just a ruse to get you binned
But Mancini kept you though
No matter what you did

Goodbye Mario, it seems you're always having a ball
Driving round with wads of cash
Because you had it all
You wore a great big chicken hat
And looked like a right moody fool
But we all still loved you
We took you as a Blue

And it seems to me, all that energy
You spent aiming studs at Parker’s head
Just like your talent lad, was sadly wasted

Goodbye Mario, you’re gonna answer Silvio’s call
And head off back to Milan
Where you want to play football
They’ll abuse you and call you names
You’ll never please those Milanese dogs
But you always be a welcomed here
You were mad as a box of frogs

And it seems to me, the reality
When you played you could be class
But when push comes to shove
You’ve been a pain in the ass...

Great. That's all well and good. Shouldn't this 'huge talent' he supposedly has have given a tad more than that in 2 and half years? Also, for each of those positives he's given to the team there, there are negatives to counter them. He is a myth and is not as good as people think he is, which will show in the future, (in my opinion).

Re: Goodbye Mario?

Wonder when the first 'City force Balotelli hand' headline will appear.

Won't ever forget you Mario - first football song my 5 year old tried to sing was "Oh Balotelli, he's a stirker..."

Ciao Mario.

Taupin wrote the words, Dwight the music.

But very good none the less.
