Ha, not if you think Dzeko is more talented than Mario no.

That is different from saying "who scored the most goals or showed more application".

As an example, Charlie Adam had a better record for Blackpool in terms of goals and assists than Modric did for Spurs, but there is no doubting that Modric is more talented and better placed to walk into the Madrid squad.

If Mario is allowed a run as lead striker (something he never got at City as he was always on the left - and as such your comparisons with Dzeko are foolhardy) at Milan, then I am certain he will be top scorer in Seria A for the next few years.

Kind words from the enigma that remains Mario.

I think every City fan sincerely wishes Mario the very best for the future. He was a major participant in the transformation of City and winning the title.

Underneath all the hysteria he has always seemed a genuinely nice guy. Some of the videos of him in quieter moments demonstrate this.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tribute on the OS.

There was certainly never a dull moment with Mario around.

I'm not interested in getting embroiled in an argument about this with the so-called haters but I don't buy this theory that he never wanted to be here and I actually think, all things considered, he enjoyed his time with us and he enjoyed living over here. IMO it's only because it was AC Milan that came in that he showed any real interest in leaving - they're the club he supported as a kid so his head was always going to be turned once they showed an interest.

As for his comments, the only surprise is that anyone is surprised about them. Some might think he's making the right noises but I think he's being largely genuine. Apparently he was totally made up when he first saw that YouTube video of the City fans on the train to Blackburn singing the Balotelli song so he clearly appreciated the support we gave him.

Honours can be misleading sometimes though.

David May won 2 League titles, 2 FA Cups, 2 Community Shields and 1 Champions League during his spell with Man United. Nobody would say he made an epic contribution and he ended up being ranked 43rd out of "The Top 50 Worst Footballers" in the Times.

And no, I'm not saying David May was ever a better footballer than Balotelli, I'm just saying that sometimes, stats don't always show the perfect picture.
