Gordon McQueen

Like John Hollins who passed away the day before, it is always sad to hear of the passing of famous footballers. We weren’t quite so tribal fifty years ago, I always supported City but never afraid to recognise the talent elsewhere. Rest in Peace Gordon and John, you helped the game progress from the “jumpers for goalposts” era.

I remember my dad jumping and cheering when Gordon scored in that great FA Cup final against Arsenal.
RIP.

One of those monumental centre halfs from the 70's (like our own dear Dave Watson) who would attack every ball high or low that came near him. RIP Big Man, condolences and prayers for his family.

My father died in the late 90's due to a form of dementia, I remember seeing his brain scans and it was the front of his brain that had caused his issue. He played for WBA in 1950's as a winger.
