Looks like you all did it. Congratulations on the project lads. Really pleased to see this go true. Let's hope for a win now!

Re: BBGL we have done it - flights booked! please read pg 43

Ok, here is the news everybody has been waiting for. YunJoshii second guessed and now it is official.

Gordon Love is coming home and flights have been booked!

Before i offer thanks to each and every person who has donated money and offered messages of support i will explain the frantic behind the scene negotiations both myself and Stephen have entered into today with a donor that wishes to remain anonymous and who has helped pushed this through for us. You know who you are. I know you will read this. Thank you for all your hard work, we could not have done this without you.

The flight booked will bring Gordon home on Tuesday the 12th April. This will land into Heathrow airport where he will get a connecting British Airways flight into Manchester. I ask now that people do not speculate as to why this route has been chosen, why this airline has been chosen, who the donor is or any other questions of this ilk . It has the potential to cause both myself and Stephen massive head aches. Today has been stressful enough as it is. He will be picked up at Manchester airport by his nephew and taken to his sisters house in Ashton where he will stay during his trip.

What i can say is that we are still accepting donations right up until the 14th Wednesday deadline. We are aiming for £1281, but with connecting flights this has risen . Again we cant go into the finer details but any monies will be gratefully received. We currently stand at just over £1200. Details for payment are dotted around the thread but are listed again at the bottom of this page.

So now to the thankyou bit. Where do we start? This has been an absolutely phenomenal effort, a team effort and one which everybody can be extremely proud of. We are in regular contact with Gordon and i tell you what, we could not have done this for a more honest, noble and dignified man. The guy is class personified, a born and bred blue. Like i say, we could not have done this for a better person. He is so grateful. If you think about it, is quite unbelievable that we have managed to pull this off. I stress we, as again this has been a team effort.

During his stay be will take in the derby game, the villa game and the spurs game. His return flight will be on the 8th May. Just to stress, the duration of the stay had no direct bearing on the price of the ticket. We are now organising some sort of do so everybody can get together and meet this great man.

To those that want to know how this amazing story started and developed, please read below.

As most of you are aware, MCFC and Etihad are running a competition to send a fan from anywhere around the world to the Derby Fortunately for me, I have made the final 10.
I would really appreciate it if you guys would vote for me. I have never been to a city game (let alone out of Australia), and it would be a dream come true.

Click on the link, mine is the first (Paul D) and turn up the volume on your PC.
Feel free to vote any of the other blues, of course.
Dont be afraid to get your friends to vote too.

Mods, you can sticky if you like.
Thanks

Voted for Gordon too, seemed like one of the ones who may genuinley not be able to another game otherwise.

if he dont win, i rec we have a bluemoon whip around and get him over for the game. would be great if he could come over one last time and see city play. or am i just dreaming the impossible?

Warpig suggested this, in another thread, i would personally donate £30 for this cause, This is not a thread trying to get him votes, this is a thread about a man who lives in australia and his storey made me want to start this.

Are there people interested, as this would be an amazing achievement.
