I guess there is not a lot that City can do if a player and their family insist on a security firm. Sky TV don’t block Gary Neville because he has criminals providing security at his Football, Football hotel.

I’ve had a look at the Directors of the Company, some posters think would have been providing security. I can understand the points being made.

That said, they clearly weren’t a deterrent to the robbers. It’s one thing having a fearsome reputation in Cheshire and Tameside. It’s another thing being able to scare off international criminal gangs or possibly gypsy clans who have hundreds of family in Greater Manchester and family in Liverpool and Ireland.

If those company directors are as dubious as is being claimed they were probably in on the crime.

Scum never change their spots, no matter how much money they can make from "legitimate" business ventures they still can't resist the urge to make additional criminal gains via those "legitimate" business interests.

Half the world didn’t know that a property he bought about a year ago had just become inhabited about a week ago though.

It would also take a very brazen gang to try and rob a property that had an onsite security office clearly visible on the grounds, unless they were confident that they wouldn’t be disturbed.

Assuming the newspaper report linked above is correct about those two things obviously.

According to the Sun write-up he had on-site security in place but the thieves still got in. The brass neck to break in with this level of security and a lot of people on the premises.

'Level of security' don't matter if the layout is known.

Heard a story (i used to do a lot of work for someone who had a housekeeping company working with a lot of the squad, i worked at a lot of players houses back about 4/5 years ago) about a current player and the tactics his ‘security company’ used to increase the service provided and increase the bills to go with that. Protection/extortion racket pure and simple.

Youll have heard of the guy that runs the company. Particularly if you are from around the stockport area.
When said player asked the club to contact the police for help in cancelling the contract , the police advised him to stick with them to avoid any ‘come backs’. In their words the owner of the security company is ‘too big’.
security company then ‘advised’ the player to sack the woman (who i still know) who was the housekeeper and brought their own in.

Its fuckin amazing and sounds too much like its out of a gangster movie but i was quite close to said housekeeper at the time i know it to be true.
She then started binning off all her footballer clients as just too much mither. The last straw was an city player (now ex) not paying her for over night baby sitting duties as “she was asleep” and would only pay her the £10 an hour for when she was awake, despite her sleeping at the players house

OK but everyone from the insurance company’s clerk to the receptionist at the beauticians would have known that Jack and family had moved in. Scores of people providing furniture and fittings, craftsmen etc. Plus everyone in the local community letting their friends and family know.

30 years ago i did a job for a guy who owned a massive haulage company, forget what the company was called , you dont see them anymore, but put it this way, his neighbour was bill wyman. Down in essex/suffolk way

Each morning when we arrived on site we had to go through this situation where we had to drive through gates, into a secure area, then through another set of gates. Like when you drive into the lion enclosure at a safari park.
Once into the main grounds these 2 dobermans would appear and be going fucking ballistic at the van , jumping up at the windows, snarling, barking. We would then have to wait in the van until the handler had put them in their compound and we could only get out the van when he would give the all clear.

I guess that all works well until the dogs are drugged ;)

I believe our law and order in this country is truly broken. Police don't bother catching criminals unless the value of the crime is big (Makes commiting crimes more easier like shoplifting). Also the courts give pathetic sentences like we see on the news.

It's awful our players have been targeted and robbed by these criminals. And this is why we need good proper sentencing when they get caught with the evidence to show they clearly robbed the person's house.

This is what happens when the country is run by a bunch of gangsters masquerading as politicians. We're in a system that's all about making money. No thieves means no security companies, it's all manufactured. It's not just law and order that's broken, it's the country.

They are like a cancer that keeps spreading. These loaded people / homeowners really needs to do their homework when commissioning security companies.

Also, asking “favours” from these type of peole can prove very expensive. A mate of mine was bullied in his local. He had family connections to a big gypsy family. They (allegedly) popped over to his local and weren’t waiving peas shooters. He never had any mither in that pub again. If he hadn’t been family, he would have been paying off that debt forever more.

I think a lot of the players wives and girlfriends are very canny with the household budget, excluding their personal expenditure. My Mum was the Secretary of a cleaning company and Niall Quinn’s missus was a pain in the arse. Niall was great. I know that’s going back a long way lol.

Absolutely awful thing to happen for Jack and knowing how family-orientated he is it would have been shocking with him knowing they were all together while he was over an hour away on the pitch.

Sounds like an inside job to me - as others have correctly pointed out a whole host of people would have enough knowledge to pass on.

Tabloid scum published photos of the house last year before he moved in. And they’re off again publishing photos of the property and grounds. Not that they’d ever be held to account.

Those on here blaming Jack (even indirectly) need to give their bloody heads a wobble. It’s evident he’s done a lot re. security but these criminal enterprises are two steps ahead of everyone, and if it’s an inside job he’d have stood no chance anyway. He’s got as much right as any of us to live where he likes in peace without the threat of criminal scum breaking into his own property.
