Greatest Atmosphere ever at Maine Road

I don’t know why it sticks in my mind. The 5-1 loss to Tottenham in the FA cup. Terry Phelan scores one of the best consolation goals you’ll ever see by a City player and then the fans run on to the pitch and the game is halted.

I suppose it was the beginning of the end for City as a force at Maine Road. After that, everything just fell apart.
Thought it was 4-2 to spuds??

One not mentioned on here but I vaguely remember as an eleven year old the fenabhache match being quite noisy alah with chocolate songs.

I was in Platt lane that day and the Kippax was fit for bursting. There was a pocket of about 50 - 100 Charlton fans in the corner, but they moved them ( god knows where) and opened up the gates to take the strain off the Kippax. Swales well fiddled our attendances back in the day
Official attendance 22.500 that day haha
