Growing a beard/ goatee

Looks good when it’s short
Looks scruffy and itches when it’s a bit longer
Looks good when it’s longer than that and also stops itching

I grow mine for 3-6 months at a time depending on how cold the Winter is. Always get it trimmed so I don’t look homeless through, say once every two months.

Always whack it off in the Summer.

A goatee NEVER looks good, just saying...

I shaved my beard off after about 18 months last week. Basically, everyone seems to have one now & I prefer to be the exception to the rule.
Felt a bit weird initially but will enjoy the ability to absorb more vitamin D through my facial skin cells in the coming weeks.

Suppose if you've got rid this is the time of year to do it otherwise you'd end up with a two toned face.

That was part of my thinking, as well as the end of its use to keep my face warm during winter runs & cold winter evening City matches.

Have you tried swimming with a beard in your local pool? Basically acts as a pond skimmer and picks up all the floating goz.

Another reason why I got rid of it after seeing all the strands of long hair & bits of bog roll floating around in the pool!

I've been growing mine since Christmas and it's starting to go from a short stubble look to proper beard and I like it.

My issue is what to do with the Tash and Sides and the bit between chin and mouth.

I use beard butter and wash it regularly. I even bought a kit with oils and stuff.

In my experience, I think it looks better when I let the ’tache proper grow-out and get ’tache wax to move it away from the mouth and curl the ends up.

Sounds like a pain, and it is when it’s in the in between stage, but when you get the this stage it’s worth it:
