I see there are going to be premature meltdowns galore on this forum for the next three months or so.

Your right Pam.....after the lack of effort, passion and fight we saw from the players this season, I think I'm going to have a meltdown every time someone else signs a player we like!; )

Beggars belief, good player he may be but at the moment injured and we are thinking of signing him, have the powers that be not seen our injury situation this season...

Nah. This is where I sign out. Move on to someone else. Kroos, Pjanic, Isco, Xhaka and those yet to come. There are a score of equally talented or slightly less talented players who give more value coz they play mist games.

It's the reason why Otamendi is better than Kompany. And Suarez than Aguero. And Koke than Silva And Griezmann than Reus. Ad infinitum. Injury prone players are a drag. Move on.

Pour good money into great players with little history of injuries. Folks need to start viewing injury as a talent. It is. It's as important at calmness in front of goal, or timing into a tackle.

Pogba, Isco, Hector, Coric and Halilovic.

£80-100m (can't keep up with his value) on Pogba or £17m on Gundogan and still be able to afford another top class midfielder?

Gundogan and another in a heartbeat, for me. What if we spend all that money on Pogba and he gets severely injured? What if Gundogan recovers and is virtually injury free for the rest of his career?

Of course they're both hypothetical but, at least in one of those instances, we haven't put all our eggs in one basket.

For £100 million I'd like to think you could throw a full back in there as well and still have change.

This is the discussion we should be having. We should disregard players who are Crocked and yet to come back from serious injury. Our season was blighted by numerous injuries to key players, why add those who may never fully recover? DAX777 says it well. In my opinion, for what little it's worth, If he cannot pass a medical, he is not fit to play. Of course somebody may be fit and get a serious injury in his first game. But at least he was fit to start with.

You are now being obsessed with this.I would prefer to leave it to those who know best and those who probably have more medical updates on those individuals than you.

I am obsessed with City as a team that I support. When I see posts recommending that we sign Wiltshire, Laporte and Gundogan who have serious injury problems, we are not learning by the problems we encountered this season.

You're having a laugh! That just about covers Mino's fee, Paul's haircuts and paying Juventus to take Yaya on loan.
Ha! I meant using the £100 million that's earmarked for Pogba and getting Gundogan plus a top quality CM and fullback.

Ah right, I'm with you.

Yup, I have no idea about our budget or what Pep's after but if it was a straight choice between Pogba or a Gundogan and still having £60-80m to spend on other top quality players, it seems like an absolute no brainier.

Not that I'd complain if we ever got Pogba.

It's not an ideal situation but Gundogan is that good, he's worth the wait. Judging by the more reliable posters he'll be fit when the Champions League group stages begin and that's when the "squad" is stretched so we'll be absolutely fine. I can't imagine he'll be the only central midfielder arriving either, considering the only true all rounder we have is Fernandinho.

That said I think we'll be playing a 3-6-1 next season, with two holding midfielders and two central attacking midfielders. It's the only way to get De Bruyne and Silva in the same team in their favoured positions.

Well I havn`t seen one poster in support of signing Wiltshire. However I would put a pound to a penny that both other players (and I`m assuming that Pep is seriously interested) have given permission to City,to view those medical findings.
I think the club will be at least one step ahead of you on that score. So let them worry not the fans,as we know fuck all.

Laporte and gundogan have bone injuries that will completely heal and not muscle problems like vinny so no reason to not buy them, wiltshire is a little shit who imo is using us to get a new contract at the arses so won't be coming imo

If 17mil is the asking price....then no reason why we cant buy Gundogan (injury or no injury) as his signing isnt going to impact our spending for the summer. At a bigger price bracket this might be a risky move but the long term potential of this signing and at this price, makes it a win-win for us.....I just wish Txiki would close some of these deals....find it really frustrating that Bayern can close Renato Sanches deal in 2 days after reports that the rags werent moving fast enough and we've reportedly been in talks for "months" for players like Gundogan and Laporte and still not closed even when one of them has a release clause we've rumoured to be willing to trigger.....
