Happy 5-1 day

Arguably a better result than the sick swan for me. Reason being, at that time we were pretty meh (being generous!) whereas with the 6-1, we were fast approaching from over the horizon. Did any City fan seriously expect Machin's lads to storm to such a win?

Happy 92nd birthday mum. R.I.P
Machin, Mancini. Almost anagrams..

i was in N block north stand about 3 rows from the top, first year we got season tickets as an 8yo.

heard a ricky hatton clip on the podcast at the weekend and he was saying he was in the north stand as well. what a day. its funny how my memory though is from the VHS Tyldseleys commentary “united are at sixes and sevens”

Y
Mike Duxbury. Yes was May 89. I couldn’t remember this one.
Albiston was May 88. Moran was August 88
Yeah that's the one,
Learnt my first city chant that day, simple but effective.
They sang utd and we followed it by shouting shit
My mam wasn't happy with her 8 year old running round the street shouting utds shit though haha. Happy days

Was talking to neil midgelys wife about the game at a funeral last year. Straight after the game she went down to see neil in the referees room, when Ferguson stormed in in a rage saying one of city's goals in the first half should have been disallowed. Apparently neil looked at him and said "OK let's call it 4-1 then"

I thought it was "United all over the place!"

Albiston was the day after last match of season, we'd been away to Palace on the boiling hot Saturday n up Chester Road that nice n sunny Sunday.

Twats showed us on the friggin news...

Yep, Albistons testimonial I think. Resulted in Operation Omega
Big following of City fans at those testimonials very well organised and tooled up for giving it to the rags.

It was the start of the OB actions to break up the Governors & Cats.

Was on the Kippax with my nine -year-old daughter, her first derby!!!!
She's now 42 and absolutely City daft, same as her brother and sister.
Mrs. Dobber was a rag when we got married but is now blue through and through and hates everything the rags stand for.
Just by way of interest,my great grandfather was at Hyde Road for the first game there,(was that the one which the King attended?), maybe someone could clarify that for me.
I think the king attended the first game at Maine Road.

1923.
