Hinchcliffe's goal was truly a thing of beauty. Pity he became such a tw@.
It was Definitely 89/90 seasonYep, Albistons testimonial I think. Resulted in Operation Omega
Machin, Mancini. Almost anagrams..Arguably a better result than the sick swan for me. Reason being, at that time we were pretty meh (being generous!) whereas with the 6-1, we were fast approaching from over the horizon. Did any City fan seriously expect Machin's lads to storm to such a win?
Happy 92nd birthday mum. R.I.P
Mike Duxbury. Yes was May 89. I couldn’t remember this one.It was Definitely 89/90 season
Lee duxbury???
Yeah that's the one,Mike Duxbury. Yes was May 89. I couldn’t remember this one.
Albiston was May 88. Moran was August 88
I thought it was "United all over the place!"i was in N block north stand about 3 rows from the top, first year we got season tickets as an 8yo.
heard a ricky hatton clip on the podcast at the weekend and he was saying he was in the north stand as well. what a day. its funny how my memory though is from the VHS Tyldseleys commentary “united are at sixes and sevens”
" Look how bravely Morley went in there"When Morley's went in (2nd goal), it was pandemonium coming so close after the first!! Raucous!!
Which goal and for what reason is the question to baconWas talking to neil midgelys wife about the game at a funeral last year. Straight after the game she went down to see neil in the referees room, when Ferguson stormed in in a rage saying one of city's goals in the first half should have been disallowed. Apparently neil looked at him and said "OK let's call it 4-1 then"
Couple of us made out we got injured n that them St. Johns advised us to stay put, fuck knows how we didn't get a tugHow did you manage to stay there. The OB knew who you were?
Albiston was the day after last match of season, we'd been away to Palace on the boiling hot Saturday n up Chester Road that nice n sunny Sunday.Mike Duxbury. Yes was May 89. I couldn’t remember this one.
Albiston was May 88. Moran was August 88
Big following of City fans at those testimonials very well organised and tooled up for giving it to the rags.Yep, Albistons testimonial I think. Resulted in Operation Omega
He metamorphosised in to a bitter, envious, anti City **** !!Whatever became of that Hinchcliffe bloke?
It was indeed… operation OmegaBig following of City fans at those testimonials very well organised and tooled up for giving it to the rags.
It was the start of the OB actions to break up the Governors & Cats.
I think the king attended the first game at Maine Road. Was on the Kippax with my nine -year-old daughter, her first derby!!!!
She's now 42 and absolutely City daft, same as her brother and sister.
Mrs. Dobber was a rag when we got married but is now blue through and through and hates everything the rags stand for.
Just by way of interest,my great grandfather was at Hyde Road for the first game there,(was that the one which the King attended?), maybe someone could clarify that for me.
There’s only one king to grace Maine Road king ColinI think the king attended the first game at Maine Road.
