Harry Kane

What's the holdup? They ask as if the transfer isn't potentially our most important and most expensive since Aguero. Wouldn't expect anything to happen maybe even till we've played Spurs in first game of the season

We're a week since the Euros ended and still two weeks MINIMUM from the England players returning to training. Personally I don't understand the angst unless you're a needy kid. Too many people are conditioned by the 24 hour rolling news cycle in football. They want 'updates' everyday otherwise they think nothing is happening.

If Spuds really are up shit creek financially then I suspect they will not want to risk him being injured and it not happening. None of there other players would fetch more than a few quid.

Oh they do. It's just that unfortunately Kane isn't sexy, and therefore there's is an intense amount of denial going on about our business. This is no different to KDB or Sterling. Our target is clear, and so is the process of signing him.
And he's not signing for the Rags, is he? Were he Swamp-bound it would be rolling over every top billing on every outlet from the Amazon to Tonga, from the Falklands to Spitzbergen.

As i have said i do not think this is going
to happen. If it is not done by 1st of august not sure we will sign anyone of note.Hearing Pep say we have plenty of talent in the academy well it may well be about to prove its worth.
We need to sign a quality centre forward but City have often not gone down the marquee signing route. We have usually plucked some unknown player, that nobody has heard of, from South America or somewhere obscure for twenty million quid and they have become a superstar at our club. Personally I hope we go big this time as I think this will give the side a huge lift.

The returning date for Kane is August 8th or 9th, still a bit far away imo. You're right though, but it would certainly be a grand farewell if he were to play and then move. Or who knows, if everything goes sideways by then.

Exactly. There's another dynamic at play (both in the media and from social media). There's a sense that somehow City can't or won't pay a massive fee because they've never done it before. Somehow people are convinced that the most successful club in the country over the last decade - a club which has a billion quids worth of investments in an entire football group, can't match the spending of Man United or Chelsea and can't land it's top target because it'll be too expensive.

This comes down to the will of the owners, the will of the board, and the will of Guardiola. They've seemingly all aligned and want Kane. I struggle to see how it doesn't get done because that would take Levy saying "I'm just not selling". And that, so far, isn't the case.

Just to add to that Nuno and Paratici's words on Kane mean absolutely fuck all. The latter barely landed Nuno after several failures, was literally his first task after joining Spurs. They've yet to sort a deal for a 20m defender in Tomiyasu, let alone be linked to Koundé or Varane, or Vlahovic lol. I'm surprised people can't figure out where they'd raise such money from, especially given Levy publicly declared they're broke.

Maybe rather than not being able to afford him, we just don't think he's worth that much? Or even we just are not interested.
