Whilst we don't have much previous for going big on a player in their late twenty's I find it hard to believe you genuinely think this isn't going to happen.
The chairman made it quite clear that we would be doing business that we don't normally do with age profile a bit higher than we've seen in the past. He also made it clear that Aguero would be replaced by a player worthy of doing so.
I'm not sure how you can come to the conclusion this is impossible a signing when all evidence points to the opposite.
Hes hardly a short term fix either when we'd likely get 4 very good seasons out of him.
I'm not enamoured about the numbers being bandied about and expect them to be exaggerated somewhat but I'm definitely excited to see a bonofide top quality goalscorer fill the void that's been empty for a while now.
It still might fall through and not happen but it won't be for the reasons you state.
