Harry Kane

Not sure why people go on about resale value as if every big signing we make, we sell four years later for a huge profit.

Nonsensical view, the club don't operate like that and there's no evidence to suggest they will. The only exception I can think of was Leroy and he wanted out.

If we got him we'd keep him until he retired or his contract expired, as we have with all of our key players.

The club will take a view on whether his fee and wages for 4/5 years and the expected returns from his goals are worth it. Crazy to think they're sat around working out how much they could sell him for.

They do that with 18yr olds from South America.

Bang on.

The only reason we mainly target young players is because of continuity, not resale value. Thats only insurance in case the player wants out, but its unlikely 28 year old signing would want out all of a sudden.

United are too big a risk for him at this point. Put Kane in their team and they still don't beat us to the title next season. He wants trophies and there's only one club that can guarantee them for him.

Who cares about resale value? I want to see us win everything and score 180 goals a season in the process. This would be an unbelievable signing!

Neville doing the interview is irrelevant to Kane's destination. Sky have a new series called 'The Overlap', where he interviews people in football. Trying to capitalize on his new found popularity.

I agree. But let me put it to you, that had Micah done that interview, we'd be taking it as he's coming here.

Both of course would be reading into it.

I wonder how eager he is to leave Tottenham?

Hypothetically, if we couldn't/won't make a move for him, would he still heavily push for a move to United or Chelsea? Or abroad?

I have a sneaky feeling it's more he wants to join City than specifically leave Spurs.

Nothing I’ve seen or heard over the last few days suggests a move to utd.
Neville doing an interview with him is some leap when all quotes coming out point to a move to City.

"Resale value".

Ffs blues get a fucking grip.

This is not something the club has been remotely arsed about, in the context of first team squad players, in the last 10-12 years.

It's not a thing.

Only because we have been blessed with players extendong contracts, which in itself is the same thing in many ways. And long may it continue.

Anyone else think the club wanting to sign will wait until after euros in case of injury risk...
I can imagine us spending 100m then him doing his cruciate in the first 5 min of the euros

I'd have him just so we've got a decent penalty taker... but knowing our luck he'd never score one again if he played for us

Because Mbappe can afford to do that at the platform that is PSG and Haaland can’t
Curious why you think Haaland can't? Yes. PSG is a well known club I will give you that. Dortmund isn't exactly a club with part time players in some backwater town in Kazakhstan.

Moreover, Haaland is a well known talent in football. He makes his own platform, if you will, irrespective of the size of his club compared to PSG. I certainly think Haaland can afford to wait a year and run his contract out if he chooses. It won't devalue him a bit provided he continues playing well.
