Harry Kane

How does that work? I’ve heard of it before but cannot remember where
It wouldn’t apply here, I don’t think. It’s to do with a player being able to walk away from their contract if they aren’t being played for a large period of time.

Clubs have basically said they won’t use it to get players on the cheap, and so far they’ve kept that up.

Donny van der Beek might be looking into it though.

Webster Rule

Specifically, it states that any player who signed a contract before the age of 28 can buy himself out of the contract three years after the deal was signed. If he is 28 or older the time limit is shortened to two years.

Hugely. His legacy would be destroyed like Sol Campbell’s.
He’s gotta weigh up his options big time this summer I reckon. I don’t like the idea of giving that much money to a rival though as has been mentioned. However, seeing how they spent the Bale money I wouldn’t be too afraid

Most of any money they get in would be needed to help service their stadium debt.

If I was Levy, I’d price him out of the market so that he either stays or they get a fortune for him.

I can’t see Kane going on strike etc for the same legacy issues as the Webster ruling would cause.
