Harry Kane

he has a contract Spurs had an asking price which City didn’t agree with and haven’t paid it what was Kane supposed to do
I’m not blaming Kane as much as city I guess idk. I just don’t like that we have a week to sort another player or go with what we got. We have a tendency to play these games with other clubs. Like I said idk how hard it is for coty to be like here is what we offer yes or no. If they say no we move on

City will have alternatives in mind, just as we did when we needed a centre back last year, and look how that one turned out.

Good luck in the Europa conference whatever the fuck it is lol.
Thanks mate, it's a great competition. Played a game with a mate in the pub where you guess the countries each club is from. Better than playing Shaktar every year and we have half a chance of winning it.

I’ve been on this forum for a very long time and I have to say the Kane thread has by far been one of my least favorite threads/transfer sagas ever. It wasn’t even fun
A sign of the changing times.

A player that somewhat divided opinion, something your no longer allowed to have on here is an opinion that is considered edgy and one not acceptable to certain people with influence on here.

I'm just glad we aren't getting him never liked him for swearing on his daughter's life that he scored dunno why I can't believe him and it's too inconclusive, I've always been of the opinion we should prioritise Haaland even Lukaku would've been better over Kane in my view regardless of him being a failed rag, so I'm relieved we aren't wasting money on him just hope we don't go balls deep with an extremely high £160m offer now, it wouldn't surprise me if we go for someone else completely different either.

If Haaland is available though in January we should wait until then and go all out for him then, just look at that vid of him saying our stadium is beautiful him wearing City kits as a kid, and coming to the match with Alfie on Multiple occasions it's clear he has at least some genuine affection for us it makes perfect sense, there's a genuine danger of if he wants to play in the prem we could force him into the rags hands if we don't move for him and that would be extremely stupid of us, Chelsea have Lukaku dippers could be buying in other areas too if we choose someone else and he wants prem rags would be his only option and we defo can't let that happen.
I'm not sure Mbappe will ever materialise think it's a case of him wanting to play for Real Madrid this wanting to leave and I think he'd be more likely to want to leave us for them at some point, I'm not saying he'd be cheap wages wise at 250-300k a week but that brute Erling Haaland is exactly the type of striker I've wanted us to sign, wouldn't be surprised if we sign Martinez off Inter instead though with their money situation or that Dusan Vlahovic but I've always wanted Haaland since his Salzburg days, so should everyone else his link up play is underrated he's strong really quick and tall an easy target I'm sure he'll improve a lot at heading too.

And another thing would Haaland be technically homegrown due to his birth being here? I've no idea but if not then that must mean Owen Hargreaves was never deemed homegrown either as Hargreaves probs spent less of his childhood here than Haaland... Just an extra thought on any potential deal for him.

If true that's even worse? It would mean we're about to go into a season with no recognized number nine because we were banking on a deal with Spurs who weren't even picking up the phone?

exactly what I’ve been saying. This policy of speaking to the wrong people keeps biting us in the arse.

Wrong on the last line in my view Gundo. Not when your Chairman is Daniel Levy. And I actually thought he showed a lot of ambition in deciding to leave his boyhood club.
He didn’t decide to leave though did he ? He told his awkward boss he’d kind of like it if he’d please allow him to join City but he didn’t follow through with it, he just folded when his boss said no.

Do you buy into this media portrayal of Levy as a monster negotiator ? Do Spurs keep star players longer and / or get bigger fees for them than comparable clubs ?

Fuck me, the state of this from the fighting cock..

Perhaps Kane has become aware that the owners of ManC preside over “very serious human rights” - according to Amnesty. Be careful Harry, people who oppose their ideas are usually tortured and murdered

Kane is still a Spurs player, Levy said he was not for sale and he wasn't at the price we were prepared to give.

Levy may be a cnut but this time he has stuck to his word and still has his star man.

Kane didn't have a release clause (hope he fires his brother agent) so this back and forth was the only option. You say "here's our offer take it or leave it" and then what? Levy tells us to pound sand and that's that?

The only real option was for Kane to pressure Levy into letting him go. Or for Kane to buy out his own contract which, get real, was never going to happen.

This negotiation was always going to go down to the wire and was always going to depend on Kane forcing the issue. He didn't, here we are.

We got 3 striker options currently:

1) Sterling - the speed striker

2) Ferran - the technical striker

3) Delap - the typical striker

I'm okay with that for the season to tackle any opposition until we get Haaland, who can encompass all 3 aspects.

think it’s bollocks tbh i can’t see us pursuing this for so long if they were refusing to even negotiate.
Didn’t Pep say with his own mouth that spurs are not negotiating with us. The only forward target is Kane so it is not like they were rushing to move to another target.

Literally an unreal situation. Yet another year of pep potentially wasted with obvious squad weakness...does this mean we can bring in a CDM and LB now please...
