I’m not privy to our dealings and so I don’t know how aggressively we actually pursued him, but it seemed very one sided and any approach was shut down. Newcastle, whilst minted, still seem to be reasonable and they’ll have the same reservations as we do, so paying north of 100m for 29yo does not make financial sense and evidentially Levy won’t answer the phone for anything less. So unless we can’t get Haaland and decide to go balls deep on Kane, I don’t see him going anywhere.

If Kane is ambitious and wants to play in Europe and win trophies, Newcastle isn’t the right place for him. With a couple of decent signings, there is a chance of them winning a domestic competition, but I can’t see them achieving a European slot in the next 2 season and by then he will be 30.

If he does that it's clearly for the money a lot of close Utd mates even they said they're 3-4 years away from challenging. Kane if actually wants to win something should go Bayern or PSG.

Newcastle could be a very interesting project for any player . Make no mistake they will become a force . If the price is right and he actively wants a move Man City will be looking to bring him in whether we like it or not .

Agreed. I cannot think of another club stupid enough to pay what Levy will demand though. Maybe Newcastle might - they are a bit of an unknown quantity so far I guess. But I just cannot see Kane fancying going there at all. So the swamp it is... if he ever leaves at all, that is.

kane bottled it big time and forget the price tag if he wanted out of spurs last summer he could have made it happen
even if he took a cut in wages with the move to city he would be in a happier place and chances of winning things

i think kane at city could have broken the premier league goal record within 2 to 3 years and then smashed it in the next 2 to 3 years after. but that has gone now and maybe haaland in 7 to 10 years at city will smash it

People were saying after the Kane mo e fell thought last summer that he would end up at the rags. I wouldnt be surprised if it's for half what City offered. Two American own clubs could do deal.

If he does end up there, I suppose we will never know whether it will be for money or he actually believes that he can win trophies. But there are a lot of big names over the last 10 years, who said that they were going for the trophies and ended up winning the sum total of bog all. It's a well trodden path now.

He must know the odds are against it, as he trades one lot of owners for another cheek of the same arse. There will be no sympathy.
