Harry Kane

Haaland might have benefited from linking with him but his footballing development is being held back now. I think Raiola did a trailblazing tour of the top clubs last season. This is my boy. This is what I want for him. And clubs ran for the hills.

Agents. Why do we need them? PFA should sort players out with their contracts.
Do you think including Haaland Snr in the agents tour was his or H s Dads idea?

I know someone who works at a middling position at the club. They interact with the players a fair bit, but they're not paid much more than any regular middle class salary. You wouldn't believe how much gossip spills out of them if you get a round in and a few beers down them. I think people forget that football clubs are like any other institution, people talk non-stop and there will be hundreds of people in and around Manchester, including journos and social media gossipers, who are hearing bits of news that are probably reasonably accurate.

I'm sometimes totally in the know, other times know fuck all.
It's all down to my business.
I tend to know when players (from a lot of teams) are coming or leaving. I don't get much involved once they are here.

However, i never post on here. Why bother?
The grief that people get and having to justify the info makes it better to just sit back and eat my popcorn!

Kane reminds me too much of the Van Persie deal Fergie did , after City won the league on goals Fergie shat himself thinking City might add Van Persies goals to our already formidable attack , so he threw the works at getting Van Persie to United , so much so he gave the 30 year old , injury ravaged striker an unbelievable 4 year deal on massive wages , he won the league for Utd and gave Fergie the title in his final season. However he then reverted to type and spent the next few years in and out the treatment room on massive wages which no other club could match , Van Persie was a short term deal which became a massive albatross round the rags neck , i fear Kane could become the same for City , a 30 year old with glass ankles and on a contract making him impossible to shift...
I really hope City continue to concentrate on bringing in younger players on the up, like KDB , Sane ,Bernardo and more recently Diaz and Grealish rather than players close to their sell by date such as Van Persie ,Alexis Sanchez , Ibrahimovic ,Falcao and Cavani , all of which , like Kane , have no sell on value and reek of short term planning...

On the one hand, I get it. Kane isn't a superstar like that, he's not a flair player about to announce himself, he's not a signing that will break the internet. Another factor is that for many, he'll never quite feel like a "City player" in the way that Haaland could've done after years. For some, he'll always feel like "Harry from Spurs who came and did well for us", almost like an extra line of code to an already-existing algorithm, than an essential part of the code itself.

On the other, much bigger, hand -give your head a fucking wobble and get hyped about the best striker in the league.

He scores penalties like a psychopath. He's the biggest aerial threat since the Luftwaffe. He's been giving every part of the country trauma by slamming goals past every team in the Premiership for a decade. He's as clinical as a surgeon's knife. He can ping passes across the pitch that KDB would be proud of. He's willing to get back and defend. He's got every chance of ending up as the league's all-time top bagsman, he's wanking over the thought of coming here, and Pep Guardiola has been insistent that he's the right man for two years. I know all the flaws and risks, but I can't help but feel we're becoming a tad entitled as a fanbase for not being hyped up the rafters about this being a possibility.
I needed someone to sum up my feelings on kane...take a bloody bow, sir

I mean that's the counterpoint! I wouldn't risk getting my mate in trouble, and I take everything with a pinch of salt because just cos someone at the club has heard something doesn't mean it's true.

He’s the same age Ferna was when we signed him, he’s hardly close to his sell by date and in recent years has played more than Kun did for us, really don’t understand why so many City fans are against us buying the best striker in the league

Just as well that Kane has only just turned 28 and doesn't actually have glass ankles then. We're also not buying him to make a profit a few seasons down the road. Other than that, awesome post.

good points

Feels to me like the school bully, we’ve become everything we hated we can buy who we want so we’ll spend ex amount doing it £150 million fucking crazy

Your comparing Kane who does get injured with Ferna who hardly ever gets injured and is the exception rather than the rule.
