Harry Kane

In our history we have signed alot of strikers who have not performed either through injury or form. Whether we were in Division 1 or 2 or 3. Just because Kane scores at Spurs does not mean even with our procession football mean he will do it here. He wont start every game as well so will he spit his dummy out. Fuck spurs dont give them a penny.
That was very true 12 years ago, but our recent forward purchases have been good to outstanding.

I would love to know any star striker that would improve our squad, that we could buy for less than 75 mill, including City tax.
There aren't any, but I don't believe kane is right for us. My opinion is he would be worth paying £75m for us. In another team he might be perfect and to them he's worth paying £150m.

Me personally I think for £150m we could probably get nuno mendes, alexander isak & camavinga for a little bit more. You could get 10 years out of these kids with a huge sell on value where as kane is probably shot in maybe 2 years in to a 5 year contract on massive wages.

Like I've said numerous times, he might be a huge hit and be a superstar for 5 years. Yet history isn't on his side Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney, Robbie fowler, sturridge, bent etc all struggled before 30. We're either burnt out or too injury prone. The only English player who remained good for club and country into a decent age is shearer maybe Sheringham but he wasnt really out and out striker. He already looks tired and out of shape. Forever on the deck clutching his ankles.

Anyway, like I said it's only my opinion mate.

Bony says hi. No on a serious note you are 80% right but for the money levy wants I wouldn't go for him. He would play a quarter less games as well maybe more. Pep doesn't rush any one back after injury and will rotate , can Kane handle that.

It's a bit of a quandary this one. No doubts we need a top quality striker, one who's worthy of following in Agueros footsteps and everything points to Kane being more than up to the job in some respects. I just don't seem to be able to get too excited about it though, there's a couple of doubts lingering that keep nagging away telling me he might not be the answer even though the logical part of me says he'd be perfect.
The fee is probably the biggest issue for me though, I understand that a player of Kane's profile is going to command a big fee but talk of £130m to get the deal done doesn't sit right with me. I'm usually all for the "it's not my money" argument and can get behind it for the right player, I'm just not sure this one is that right player.
All said and done though, if it happens I'll look forward to seeing how it pans out.

I really don't rate him sorry.

I am not even sure he would suit our style.

He loses the Ball so much, and is slow as fuck.

I would rather have his team mate Son,i rate him more.

I voted no to start and to be honest I still havent changed my mind.

If anything watching at the euros has made me even more convinced he isn't suited to City.

Falls over far to easily as does Grealish.

I will admit I have only really seen him play against City and for England. So perhaps I havent seen enough of him.

But from watching him play for England I would be very nervous about City spending really big money on him. He seems slow, a big turning circle, just dont see him suiting oir style

Nobody including us gets every one right and to be fair to Bony, a vast majority of us were happy when he signed.

Don't agree about the injury and rushing Kane back. if he signs he will be expected to play and under pressure to do so when /if recovering from injury.

Haaland to me offers more in every aspect, although the deal would be difficult.

One thing our team is short of to me , especially in the big tight games is out and out pace, a striker with it is a constant threat, and Kane looks even slower than Aguero did last season with only one knee.

Txiki will not pay 120m+ for a 28 year old striker. He walked away from lot of deals for good player over 5-10m extra.
Levy also wont lower his asking price under 100m.

I agree.

Plus Haaland is younger, a big lad, powerful.

I remember watching him brush Dias off in the Champions League,(that never happens). He was a nightmare to mark.

All the signs of his all round game, point to him being suited for the physicality of English football.

Kane for me offers not that much, a glorified Goal hanger, with the occasional Worldy.Son never gets the credit he deserves for Kane scoring. Splitting defenses for Kane open goals.
