Harry Kane

Likewise, say, stat padding against Russia and Finland, two of the worst sides in the tournament. Then missing from 18 inches when you finally play a decent side. Meaningless….
I thought the tournament was meaningless? Good to know it’s changed

If you like someone and they play well great. If you don’t like someone and the. Play well then don’t sign them based on the euros

I don’t remember anyone here saying he is shit. Ever.
But you could also ask, where are the people saying that anything that happened at the Euros shouldn’t count?! Hehe
He had a very good game today, so did the team, good for him and them. But this was against an Ukraine (whose best player is our Zinchenko) exhausted from their draining last game. It means nothing

Not sure if a shit wum or mental.

Did anyone ever show you one of those lists of logical fallacies? It comes up all the time on the net. Your argument is an example of both the 'false dichotomy', and the 'straw-man'.

Again with the personal attacks. What exactly did I say in the post you quoted that was “mental”?
And I will say this in peace: using the stigma around mental health to attack anyone is something we should stop doing. All of us

That’s a fallacy or literally what many posters here were saying not many days ago?!

Despite scoring he was poor, any half alive keeper walks over and picks up Sterling's pass, he was wading through cement there again. Sterling and Shaw put it on a plate but Kane was on his heels and didn't read it, a competent striker gobbles those chances up. Taking a thousand touches when the ball came to his feet instead of moving it quickly to players making runs off him, he's in for an unpleasant surprise if he tries throwing himself to the ground for us like he did winning free kick for England's second. Sterling or Fodeen could have scored his header where the defender left him all alone to go and mark the goalkeeper.

It is. No serious club buys a player on the strength of an international tournament like this. We will have watched, analysed and selected the players we want to sign based on their club performances during an entire season.
That said, you were the one trashing Kane’s early performances while eulogising about Lukaku and directly comparing the two on that basis. So you can’t really have it both ways

But we weren’t talking about the club’s evaluation of players, but the people here and their assessments
I wasn’t really “trashing” Kane’s early performances, I was saying that the Kane I was seeing in those performances was the same one I am used to seeing at Tottenham, while people here were putting the “fault” entirely on Southgate’s shoulders as if he were the worst manager of all time, and I kept saying, He’s no worse than the vast majority of national team managers, and now people here are even defending his decision to bench Foden, and I continue to see the same Kane I am used to seeing at Tottenham lately, so nothing has changed. I’m truly confused as to why I am being attacked.

I've seen some funny things on here...

. Get Lukaku
. Get Ings
. Don't sign anyone and play Torres
. Kane is like Bony
. Glass Ankles
. Don't sign him he speaks funny
. He's an ugly cnut

Get over it. He's class and no not cos he scored 2 tonight, cos of how good he's been over the years in the best league in the world.

There is nothing “funny” about saying we should get Lukaku or even Ings, one is easily one of the best strikers in the world in the last two seasons and the other also has consistent numbers in the PL and would cost considerably less. Speaking highly of Torres also isn’t funny, though I’ve also had my arguments with the people who claimed he should be next season’s main striker.
Again, most people here don’t deny he is a quality striker — I certainly haven’t.
But the thing is: is he worth more than what our club values him, according to the reports and what Tolmie has brought? Should we really pay over 100M all things considered? My answer remains no.

I think the better he plays throughout these Euro's the harder it will be to pry him from Tottenham, that's why I have doubts about Tottenham letting him go, unless City meet the 150m evaluation, which I doubt we do.

No attack here, we all have our personal preferences but either player (or my personal favourite Haaland) would significantly improve on what we have.

£50-80m ok, £150m get to fuck.

What league is Lukaku doing it in? I find it very funny that some on here would take him over Kane. The people that was saying don't sign anyone and play Torres its funny, that's called putting all your eggs in one basket. I hope it works out for the lad but to not sign a striker and rely on Torres it's nothing short of madness.

I’ve already had this argument here. The notion that “Serie A” is shit is silly and I can only forgive it on the basis that it’s underseen. This last season for instance, there were many strong teams and quite exciting rich tactical diversity among them. I don’t know if this has changed, but the last time I checked, the league with players who most scored in the Euros was the Serie A — it’s a league with so many good players in almost all the teams, you look at a Locatelli and he is in a team that finished 8th. Even the all powerful Juventus finished 4th and only qualified for the UCL in the last game and depending on the result of another game. Sure; Pirlo is bad, but so is Ole and United finished 2nd...
And Lukaku was the protagonist of that league’s winner.
His 2020/21:
With Inter
44 games: 30 goals and 10 assists
Won the Scudetto
With Belgium
5 games at Euro 2020: 4 goals
4 games at Nations League: 5 goals e 1 assists
2 games in the World Cup 2022 qualification: 2 goals
2 friendly games: 1 goal

It’s perfectly fine to not want or like him, that is a personal opinion and should be respected just as those who don’t want or like Kane should.
But anyone arguing they want Lukaku aren’t saying anything “funny”...

Mate along time ago that league was good, it's not been a good league for years. It's my opinion mate and you have yours and I find it extremely funny/shocking that anyone would take Lukaku over Harry Kane.

I kinda get why people are saying Lukaku over Kane.
I’ve said I don’t think Kane will be the right fit for us, but I think Lukaku would be a slightly better fit, though still not right for us IMO.
So I get it.
Ings is getting mentioned cos he’ll be a hell of a lot cheaper than everyone else.
Again though not the right fit.
Though all of them would score a lot goals in our team.
I don’t think Torres is the answer, yet, maybe.
The only madness would be paying £130m+ for Kane.
I still strongly believe Kane will cost £150m.
