Harry Kane

Thanks for expanding, I hear you. We only have to look across town at Pogba to see what we'd be letting ourselves in for. It's a real pity.

Personally I think people get far too invested in single transfers. I've seen it year on year on Bluemoon and it is very rare that the players we miss out on goes on to have the impact that they are supposed to have. I keep referring to this because it is probably the best example. We signed Gundo the summer Pogba went to United and some people on here had a minor meltdown because Pogba was the only player on the planet who could replace Yaya. In football things just don't work like that.

Haaland won't stop us continuing to win PL titles regularly or get to the latter stages of the CL regularly. Missing out on a player is irrelevant when you're run as well as we are and you have a squad as good as ours.

But if we play with a centre-forward who that centre-forward is is key.

Couldn’t disagree more have you watched Grealish much I know he takes players on but his short passing is immaculate Kane and Aguero are similar players to both finishers so not much changes for me

I really dislike using stats to prove a point but the contrast is quite stark

Grealish pass completion is 78.5% last season in the PL Bernardos was 89.4%

Grealish was in the top 1% of the players in the league for making progressive passes Bernardo wasn't even in the top half.

I'm not saying he doesn't have the ability to play short passes and keep things ticking over to give us more control, but we've paid £100m for the lad I'm presuming it's because we like what we see and we want him taking risks and creating things rather than completely changing his game.

If we are ceeding that control surely we need someone clinical on the end of the chances.

It's been four years since he played for a proper PL team. His record at Inter suggests he's come a very long way since then.
All the same, the only time he ever looked decent in the prem was when he was a big fish at Everton. I think he is a more rounded player now and he already knows Chelsea, but let’s just say I’d much rather we signed Kane than Lukaku.

The rags also signed mkhitaryan who was the bundersliga player of the year when we signed Silky Ilky

"Lukaku isn't a great striker" has got to be a new low for ridiculous things I've read on this forum. I'll come back to this at the end of the season when he's holding the Golden Boot in the air at Stamford Bridge.

That open goal miss against Italy was horrific though, and it's probably one of the few times most people in here watched him.

Just a lame joke based on this picture of him as a kid that did the rounds:

You wouldn't have got me in a Rag shirt for any event, he was an Arsenal fan on the quiet.

Manchester is not Utopia, it amazes me that a guy from Portugal could stand a week in Manchester never mind 3 years.

Not like you to go over the top about Manchester.
Yeah it's not utopia, no one says it is.
Thing is I have two work colleagues from Lisbon who are making a good living here and are planning to buy a house.
Be amazed.

I prefer Kane too. Kane can go deep and create whereas Lukaku plays on the shoulder of the last man is very reliant on his acceleration which at 28 is a factor in buying such a player. But Chelsea are very close to signing Lukaku and he was always obtainable, whereas we have targeted a player under contract who is going to very difficult to buy. We will see if this was a mistake or not.

Truth hurts

If I go anywhere near red I come out in a rash

Not a chance I would where a Rag shit
I wore a United shirt once. It was the United goalkeeper top in about 1995 that had Sharp Viewcam on it and was given to me by a mate's Dad to wear as my regular top was soaked in mud. I still think about the shame of it sometimes.

There was some talk of it being a boys youth team shirt etc but he looks like he is at a bus parade to me and the hair dye is a step too far lol

I bet when he claimed he was a Spurs fan he had forgotten about this innocent photo from his past.

Think yourself lucky it was a few years before everyone had smartphones with cameras!

I wouldn't bet on that with Pep, see Sane and Jesus for examples

I was talked into going to OT once in the Stratford End by my United supporting friend who thought I could be turned. I went for the same reason I tried a psychic once…to prove it was nonsense.

When United scored there was nothing, no emotion at all,I didn’t feel bad or good just couldn’t care less. Contrast that to City where if we conceded I was mortified and if we scored it was like winning the lottery. I don’t regret going it just confirmed what I already knew. I never went back except in the away end.
