Hart No1

It is clear that beneath the suave exterior Roberto is pretty ruthless. He is getting rid of all the established players that Hughes bought Given, Bellamy and getting rid of those players who were here who dont figure in his plans Caceido, Benjani, Nedum, Ireland leaving him with those players that he has bought and those that he can work with.

I would suggest that he will give the 25 or so left the opportunity to impress and so I would imagine the tales of "spitting dummies out" will stop for a while

Not read the whole thread, but i reckon we should go with Joe, i mean what if Shays shoulder goes pop again? i can see the grief that Bobby would get on BlueMoon and just about every media scum that crawls from under their stone as at the end of the day, any player can get injured, but if you have a bit of previous and the other lad doesnt, then its a no brainer as the other lad is as good as the potential croc. The GK position is massive as you dont have a plan c,d,e, and there is massive pressure on Bobby to deliver so yes, i would also go with Joe, he just needs to stick some fucks into his defenders and get 'em off his toes and from under his nose. Cmmmonnnn Bluuues ffs.

I could see this happening months ago. And I knew Hart would get the number one with the way pre season went. While it's disappointing if we lose Shay, we have to remember he is in his mid 30s now. Every season could realistically be his last so I wouldn't want to wait on the bench either. The "stay and fight for your place" talk is less applicable to keepers as it's rare for them to get injured and it's detrimental to rotate them.

So yeah, disappointed with Shay but understand his decision at the same time. Nobody has two top keepers on their books.

Yep. It's a different kind of ruthlessness. doesn't need to shout or appear threatening, but you cross him and your name is crossed out with the pen and you're finished.

Both players have come out and said they want first team football, which is completely understandable given that they're both top keepers but for Given to go public last week about wanting a move away if he wasn't number one was just stupid. Let's just say if Mancini hadn't already made his mind up about who would be our number one, then Shay did it for him.

However, Mancini has been honest about Bellamy not being in the 25 and Robinho being welcomed back and given another chance, so when he says he wants both of them to be here I think he means it. I don't think he'll get rid of Given unless he thinks Shay is having a negative affect on the squad, which would be very unprofessional. If he does go though I hope it's to Fulham and not Arsenal.

Wait till kick off but sadly both are as worst as the other. Hart was the first 1 out of the 2 keepers to say if hes not picked hes off. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Yet Given gets a load of bollocks for saying the same. Joes a good keeper no doubt about it but is still behind Hart to be fair. Hart 1 good season compare to Givens 10 seasons of playing to a high standard consitance. Given has been tested under high pressure for years at club and country will Hart be able for that pressure is my big question at this stage?

IF Given decides to leave so be it he wants to play football and I can see a number of top clubs wanting Shay and I think the club should let him move on to whoever the same would be with Hart if the roles are changed.
