Has anyone put their central heating on yet?

No. It’s still warm. There’ve been a few fresh mornings but nothing worth putting the heating on for yet.

I’ve still only got the 4-tog duvet on my bed at the moment. Not felt the need for the 10.5-tog yet.

Got in bed the other night and told my wife to get the winter duvet sorted.
She refused due to hot flushes.

In my defence we've just got back from a hot and sunny kefalonia, and haven't reaclimatised yet.

If it was up to the wife it would have been on in July and I said no had to put my foot down on this. The hospital food I’ve been on since is liquids can’t eat much with my jaw displaced after I put my food down.

Just ran a 30 minute burst to keep the old girl fettling for the winter ahead. It's the same with a cars air con keeping it ship shape and Bristol fashion by allowing coolant to circulate throughout. The coolant contains lubricants that helps to keep it's rubber seals and pipework in good order. Just saying like:

Good to know you call your wife 'the old girl' even better to know her seals and pipework are in good working order....

An affectionate Dibnah style term for an old piece of machinery, safe to say at 63 she's keeping up steam:
Also safe to say she doesn't come on the here either : /

Anyone on here got an air source pump? We need a new gas boiler this year but with the government grants I was wondering if an air source heat pump is a better option? roughly £2k difference in price between gas and heat pump installation

I was thinking of this thread as it has been the slightest bit nippy and surprised to see people have already capitulated.

I'm still in the summer isn't over denial stage. Shorts are still being worn exclusively and summer duvet is still on as well.

Gotta get to mid October as a minimum surely?

Just got ours out during the week, took a few nights to get used to as it really is a huge difference but got used to it now and reaping the rewards!
