The BBC is part of our establishment and overwhelmingly our establishment is, to varying degrees, “progressive” and left-leaning - it’s wider than party politics. As is Sky (Comcast) and Channel 4. By way of illustration, it’s recently commissioned its own internal studies about how to reach Reform voters. It doesn’t really affect me either way, as I tend to ignore the BBC in terms of politics and social commentary - and I’m proud to say I haven’t watched anything from “Glasto” for years. As someone who broadly favours minimum constraints on free speech, I do find the pearl-clutching about Bob Vylan and “Kneecap” to be over the top.
