Have many of our “fans” become entitled?

City have set a new standard and when they fall short of it, people are going to be disappointed. personally I'm more annoyed by the complacent fans, the 'happy with what we've got fans'. The ones who secretly wanted to get relegated to league 2 by 115 so they can get their little city back.

I'm sorry city are a top club now and coming 3rd is failure. It might be unavoidable failure, it might be understandable failure but its failure. And if a fan doesn't like hearing that, its their problem.
3rd in the PL is failure for you, for me its competing at the top, continuously and competitively, sometimes delivering titles and trebles.

That's how things work for me.

And in the bigger picture failure is inevitable. It's part of the cycle in football, Title-winning teams are built, flourish, peak, and then they are re-built. We are re-building. Arguably we should do it faster. This Summer, Liverpool and Arsenal's net spends were around £250m and City's was £80m. We are in an era of unprecedented competition, unlike periods in the past when Liverpool and Man Utd had few effective challengers.

Agree we should be rebuilding faster also agree that the competition is fiercer. Not saying the general standard of football is better mind I think that’s a different discussion.

I agree. It’s not only the bigger clubs that are strengthening. The likes of Fulham Brighton Bournemouth and Brentford are all well run clubs and the teams are well coached so there are no gimmies anymore. It makes for a better league. I’d hate to be winning 5-0 every week. It would become incredibly boring.
