The last rabbit I bought was not so long ago from a butcher in Todmorden, but frozen. In Ewing Towers rabbit goes into the same category as black pudding - I'm the only one who eats it! Yer can get rabbit in most supermarkets in France, or could!Been thinking that I used to like rabbit pie as a kid but you don't see them for sale in butchers anymore.

I love chicken but I find rabbit a better "eat".
Better if shot with steel shot. I’m trying to find copper bullets for shooting big game in the future. Amazing how much lead spreads through the meatLovely, but avoid the tasteless flabby farmed rubbish. Essentially if it doesnt come with a warning about lead shot avoid. I usually do rabbit quartered in a simple stew and mop up with crusty bread, but due to lack of stock have roasted one a couple of times stuffed with paxo like a chicken and wrapped in foil to stop it drying. Really good like that, and meat pulls cleanly away for those of you who dont like bones.
