Have you ever eaten rabbit?

Rare to find it in the States except at the fanciest of spots, but I did have it a few times; the one I remember most was in New Orleans once and it was very good. Given wide-ranging meat choices on a menu, I would normally opt for lamb or veal.

Rabbit was the traditional meat in paella. I like rabbit and all those oddities that some people won't touch: snails, frog's legs, rook, pigeon breast, jellied eels, cod cheek, pigs trotters. Not eaten insects yet, but I will.
Anyone had bush meat?

Perhaps, but it also spread across mainland Europe, particularly France and Spain, yet their respective populations still consume rabbit meat.
The difference is, when confronted with a small furry animal:
The French go "Get the garlic"
The Spanish go "It will need plenty of pimenton".
The British go "Ahhh".

Apparently, fresh rabbit is seasonal because a rabbit full of baby bunnies is not an attractive prospect.
In the 80's, you could get frozen, filleted, Chinese rabbit which was convenient if not as flavoursome as fresh. It was banned though, because of disease.
I think you can still get it from Frost's in Chorlton.
Do it with smokey bacon, white wine, onions, mushrooms and herbs. Beautiful!
