Great article here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...azard-to-join-Chelsea-in-35-million-deal.html

"City are thought to have walked away from the deal last week with Spurs giving up some time ago."

"Chelsea will pay a fee of around €40 million (£35.3 million) to Lille, with Hazard having demanded wages of £4.6 million a year net of tax, so around £9  million a year for his new employer. That averages out at £170,000 a week."

"If all the demands are met and with Hazard expected to agree a five-year deal, it means the overall cost of the signing, fees and contract will amount to around £78 million which, even by Chelsea standards, is a substantial investment."

I said to my friend before the reports over the last few days have all been about United or Chelsea. Makes sense. On another note this was on red cafe LOL

They can take that with the Drogba,Boswinga and Kalou wages off the wage bill.

True but it looks good on our club, everyone in world football knows we could have offered more than any other club and got him if we wanted but we didn't. We didn't give into his greed, we made a fair offer and stuck to it.
Although we didn't get Hazard I'm still happy with the outcome.

I'm sure I am not alone in thinking this is not a bad outcome. He was making ridiculous demands for a player who has been playing in the French League, and has a really poor record for Belgium. I am sure he will be a good player but surely City would have said he would be part of the squad, getting games as and when, and he seems to think he is already the main man.

Another thing, Chelsea do not have a manager at the moment, at least not a permanent one, and so who has said where he will play and how often, Abramovitch probably!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we have enough to cope without Hazard, whilst both Rags and Chelsea need him. Rags more so than anyone.

The crucial difference is, Chelsea are now stronger but were well short last year, whilst United who pushed us right to the finish, would have benefited hugely from a player like Hazard. And been a much more considerable threat to us than Chelsea as a result.

I'm as pleased that he hasn't gone to Stretford, as disappointed he's not with us as a squad player.
But Utd will likely sign Kagawa. They are bound to strengthen their midfield. If they lose 1 target like us they will have others

Agreed. They have to strengthen, they're so weak in the middle its amazing they had the season they did. But i think Hazard has more potential than Kagawa. He could have been a thorn, and more, for several years. If the Rags do manage to acquire that 'type' of midfielder, they'll be anything but adrift next year.

Exactly this and spot on

There was not a snowball in Hells chance that City would have agreed to these demands.

Surprised we let it run it's course though!

Nothing to lose by letting it run it's course, if anything it's showing everyone else we WONT bow down and get involved in players and agents demands.

It's our terms or no terms.............

We should have stated "due to changes in the demands of the player/agent... We are no longer interested" This also shows we wont be fucked about!

Fuck me, it was a month ago he attended Eastlands Derby, was shown potential houses AND agreed to join City.. so after he starts questioning his earlier decision, the writing was on the wall.

From the Telegraph
Bad news for Chelsea fans........Eden Hazard has failed his medical.

Apparently his head was too big to go through the door.

Look at all the players that have signed for us before we were Champions. Just because we're champions doesn't mean that we have a divine right to players.

Sometimes there's lots of factors. For example, if I was a player and not a City fan, I'd prefer London to Manchester 9 out 10 times.

Would you? Fuck me! You haven't been there much then...
Hate the place personally

He has taken a huge gamble but good luck to him.
