Remember the old girl, used to sit in gg in kippax so Helen was not to far I remember singing Helen, Helen ring ya bell. I was only a kid. R.I.p.

Can guarentee if there is an afterlife Helen will still b as blue as ever.

my (rag) dad grew up with one of her sons and when he stayed over at his house she made him name the full city squad before they went to sleep.

am i right in saying helen used to do a lot of work for the social club at maine rd,i used to go in there before home games have a few pints and a game of cards and leave 5 mins before kick off to watch the match,

i`m sure it was her,she had a beehive type hair style .

I for one miss that bell ringing ,she is a part of our history and there should be a chant of `helen ring your bell `at the coms at every game.

All the home games from Sept' 87 to 92/93 . Only encountered face to face on a couple of occasions but always reassuring to hear. RIP. Would love to hear the bell continue in COMS. Maybe we could let young people take charge of the bell each week in the same way mascots get their big day!

I agree, we need to cling on to some of these old rituals. We all know that COMS is a wonderful stadium, but I worry that our youngsters are missing out on some of the little quirks and traditions that made this Club so special.

Helen's bell; cheapo souvenirs from that tiny Maine Road souvenir shop; cramming into the Kippax; tin-pot advertising hoardings; rubbish scoreboards...all part of my character-building Blue upbringing that I'm kinda sad my own kids haven't experienced.

That said, I'm hoping to God/Allah/Buddha that they will experience the success 'n' silverware that I was deprived of...three points tomorrow would help ;)
