Hillsborough - The Search for Truth

In Good Kompany & Cheadle Blue...

Everyone is entitled to an opinion I guess. I just hope today means you and yours are never in a position where you have to go through something like this.

The sad thing is, it has taken 23 years for the truth to be made public. But for all of those 23 years all of us who used to attend football back then already knew the truth.

Im pleased an apology has been made and feel its not just an apology to the families of the 96 and the people of Liverpool but to all of us who by association suffered the vilification of the establishment and the media just because we were football fans
Well said Rascal.

Finally a semblance of the truth comes out (will reserve full judgement till i have read the report)

People on here debating the scouse characteristics (not all angels etc) surely this is not the time or place.

At the end of the day they were supporters just like you and me. Peoples son's, daughters, mothers, fathers went to watch a football match and never came home. This could of been any of us.

Justice for the 96

The point not made yet is the underlying reason why football fans were treated in such a way at the time.

Due to the hooligan problem and several high profile incidents such as millwall v luton, west ham and utd kicking off of the ferries and of course heysel we were all tared with with same brush. We treated like shite and were all viewed the same.

Every club had them and Liverpool had an especially horrible bunch as previous events had proven which probably influenced the police attitude (wrongly) on the day. On this occasion the 96 fans paid the price for all the idiots, thugs and hooligans from all over who had ensured football fans were seen as scum

So while apologies are being handed hopefully some of these dickheads who nearly ruined the game will reflect a little. As should the media and politicians who allowed and perpetuated the myth the all football fans no matter what age , sex, background where thugs,

Hillsborough happened against the background of war on football fans , which in my opinion had a huge indirect effect on the events on that day and the aftermath. In short we as fans were seen as second class citizens. The sad thing is laws are still in place to ensure we often are.

Ballbags.

I imagine these people have never drunk at football matches. Shocking listening to it all on talksport

Dont be so pathetic. Too many people on here being high and mighty today, celebrating the finding, when i could bet top dollar that none of contributed to helping the truth come out.

If it was left to most on here then it would have been another 23years and longer, so just remember that before criticising

is it wrong to have a beer at a footie match? There may be a reluctance to admit wrong doings but for this, they have done no wrong to require any such acknowledgement.

This could just as easily have happened to you, your family, your kids, remember that.

Hows me not having any interest in it getting on to my friends and family?

I agree nobody should die in a ground 100%, and i feel sorry for the families involved, however nobody the reluctance of liverpool people to take on any blame whatsoever is hypocritical in my view.
