"eventually"
Wankers. They could have had them fences down within seconds (minutes?), surely?

there was no safety aspect with the fences they were welded and made to stay up little doors where only one at a time could get through i remember them taking them down in front of thhe north stand at maine road they had to use gutting gear and blowlamps
Fucking terrible Marco, We weren't that bad were we?, I thought them fences couldve been dropped straigtht off

we were matey we had our fair share of nutters around the late 70s and into the 80s maine road was a nightmare for away fans with all the back streets esp at night games, lol the football special used to get trashed every other week when we weent to away games, better days now though

I remember me and my brother going to Hillsborough 2 years before on Easter Monday. I was 14. Got dropped off late by my dad and ran in the gate. First thing you saw was the tunnel. We headed straight down it and could not get on the terrace. We came out and went round the side with loads of space.

It was a fecking disgrace that the police didn`t block off the tunnel before opening the gate at the semi. Regardless of whether or how many fans had tickets (we would have been the same) that terrace had held more people in the past.

It was war on football fans at the time. Thatcher wanted to beat the hoolies and she did it by trying to kill football. She made it her business to demonise football fans. To some extent she achieved her goal. Laws laid down then still ensure we are denied our rights and often treated as criminals just for watching a football match.

We were penned in at most grounds and treated worse than cattle. I remember being crammed into the 2 centre paddocks at the toilet when there was load of space either side. The police thought it was a laugh. Same at Everton behind the goal and many other grounds. Even at Derby Co not long after it was horrible.

The aftermath of the disaster killed off her ridiculous id cards for football fans scheme (although clubs nowadays see it a cash cow membership scheme). I will Never forget how that day unfolded from watching a Ged Taggart "master class" at Blackburn and thinking we had blow promotion then seeing all those kids who did not even get home put things in to perspective for a 16 year old kid.

Liverpool Fans aren`t my favourite bunch but there are some things fans should stand together on. We all have the right Justice and it should be no different just because we are football fans.

Luckily I saw the footage/ events unfold, so never believed the suns claims, if I hadnt Im sure I would of considerd it. Proof yet again dont believe sfa & keep an open mind until its proven

I was at Blackburn that day so didn't really hear the full of what went on til we got back to Manchester. It was all whisper talk in the stands at Blackburn..."roofs collapsed"..."scousers kickin off"...etc etc

Might have been from a pink paper

i can remember getting into the blackburn away end late, there was rumours going round that a a wall had collapsed at and two forest fans had died. that was at 3.15 ish . such a sad day. will never forget it..the feeling got worse and worse as the day went on-not helped by city losing badly...just an empty feeling.....ten had died..then 20..on the way home it was 40 had died....just an awful day.

ive been polishing like fek all summer but nothing, lionel messi is there in the next summer window so happy days

I used to know a female Liverpool fan some years after Hillsborough who was there on the day. She is a solicitor and whilst that doesn't prevent her from lying, I believed what she told me and it did not concur with anything that is now being put forward.

She stated that there were lots of drunken fans arriving, many trying to climb the walls or run the turnstiles due to having no tickets. She is the only person I have ever directly spoken to about the incident, and I can only go off that.

One further point I would like to make is with regards the Taylor report and its contents. This was the report that suggested the old Scoreboard End was good for away fans. This was despite the pen behind the goal only having two small entries at the rear which led you into the next pen. It may have prevented issues on entering, but was a mare afterwards. The Taylor report had many errors in it also.
