Hoffenheim (A) Post Match Thread

I think you will find he dived into the challenge with both feet off the ground but, as stated numerous times, at the point of contact had a foot on the ground when making contact with the ankle/shin area.
I think you'll find you're mistaken if you believe it was anything other than a one footed tackle, as stated to you several times by several people.

I have wrote exactly what I think happened which is reflected by the videos posted. He dived into the challenge with both feet off the ground, some refs may view that as reckless/not being in control or excessive force in my opinion. Ive agreed numerous times at the point of contact one of his feet was back on the floor, so little point in posters stating it as that part I have never argued with. Just typical misrepresentation of someones opinion.

Does not change the fact he was poor though and missed a clear pen and inexplicably pulled back a throw in for no good reason.

That was a relief more than anything else. Thought Aguero and Sane were really good. The Laporte experiment didn't work at all, but at least we're up and running in the group. Late goals always boost confidence.

Lets not hope it was not in preparation for Pool on Sunday as Laporte played there last year in Champs Lge. Would much rather see Danilo (If delph and Mendy not fit) as at least when Salah cuts in it will be onto Danilos stronger right foot.

Yeah I agree. Laporte was very poor there against Liverpool at Anfield last time and it's clear he can't play there. Danilo lacks game time which is a concern and even more surprising that he didn't play last night.

As soon as I vote to stop booing the jingle, they send down some goon to give one of the most corrupt refereeing performance imaginable

The penalty was shameful, the persistent blowing for unseen fouls as corners or free kicks were on their way into the box was driving me mad, but nothing could top the re-take for the throw in

Yes I should have put the caveat in based on Danilo being fully fit and capable. His non-appearance last night might suggest this is not the case.

That performance from the referee was very very questionable. You could see how angry Pep was after the game. Its pretty clear now that the club can do nothing about it either in Europe or in the PL so it will only stop when the corrupt bastards deem it pointless.

Kun and Sane were very good. Dave had a far better game than recent performances but for me Bernardo was the difference when he came on along with JS. These substitutions helped us win that match. The less said about defence the better. Looks like Gundo is out vs Liverpool - that might work for us because it means Bernardo is a nailed on starter in the middle. Like others, I actually think this is a pretty tough group with all the teams looking capable of being dangerous opponents on their day. Back to back wins against Shaktar will put us through but will be tough.

I think Stones in midfield is a must alongside Fernandinho vs Bin Dippers.
